How much would you pay for a VGT kit?

I am considering offering GT2056V VGT kits for the 617 and perhaps other MB diesel engines.

How much would you be willing to pay for a "bolt on" kit, providing you had to provide the turbo (which usually run $100 to $120 on Ebay).

The kit would include an adaptor plate, actuator bracket, pressure actuator, oil feed line, oil drain line, exhaust adaptor, gaskets and hardware. You would be responsible for providing the turbo and a new air filtration system.

Well, I paid $600 for my Holset VGT and it bolts on to the manifold without an adapter plate, and it may even be able to use the same drain tube.

Yes, but you still have to build the control system ;)

Thats just a 5-8psi wastegate actuator, a vacuum actuator (which comes with the Liberty/Sprinter turbos) and some hose. Not really very hard to do.

For the uninitiated it is :)

BG, If you do offer a kit, go all the way and have stainless hoses fabricated with proper ends not banjo-compression-hose-compression-banjo crap.

Adapter plate(Retail) would be at least 100 from a machine shop
Oil feed-$60 hose shop
Oil drain-$30 hose shop
Gaskets(oil&manifold&turbo)-$70
Actuator bracket-toss in with other machine shop order, $30

Plus the other stuff and getting it all to work together....

Ouch.

Anyways, $300-400 would be a little high for just an adapter kit. $400-$500 would be reasonable if it included the turbo.

do you remember what's the Holset VGT model number???

Simpler=Better 03-09-2009 10:59 AM

Hey now, a proper oil line has two connections(aka failure points): One at the oil supply, and one at the oil consumer.

HE341VE.

The oil supply hose has to use banjo bolts, That is what the stock MB line is on the engine side, and that is what the turbo takes.

Simpler-

You forgot the pressure actuator (at least $75), exhaust adaptor and intake manifold connection, and my time. I'm not doing this for free. ;) Also my oil line cost me something like $110 to be made in braided stainless.

I get mine for $35 through an eBay seller in Canada. Works great on my 22V and I have another for my Holset.

Got a link? The only ones I have been able to find in that price range are used or china crap.

I don't need any super nice, pretty stuff...I just need some working stuff to throw in my car. My engine isn't very pretty to begin with, and I don't have a ton of time or a workshop where I can spend time fabbing something up (and trial & error).
