performance injectors?

After a couple of years of the MBZ nozzles being on the back burner, I picked them back up last week. In the end, the pump will be the biggest determination of top end peak, but larger nozzles will add some power in the low-end and mid-range curve.

Fixed that for you. The MW pump is capable of 600bar.

We measure the pressure of the MBZ pump here at around 460 bar of peak pumping pressure with a .038" orifice plate. Thats with the 5.5mm elements. I think the 10mm elements in some of the other MW pumps would produce right at 600 bar. Those 10mm elements are not the same as the smallish MW pumps used on the MBZ. Those larger "flanged" elements are a different animal than the little K, M, and even the Q type used in this miniature MBZ pumps.

I have done zero testing with the larger elements like the ones from Myna or even the MBZ 6mm elements yet. I plan on it though.

All we did for upgraded nozzles at ths point is make a larger spraying hole. Slightly. They run nice

I have had them in my 300TD Wagon for over a year now.

You have more options with the M pump. There were 8mm elements made but they have the same stroke that the 10mm have. Nobody knows what this would equate to with our shorter strokes on the MWs.

So far the only performance experiment nozzles we have messed with are the Bosch style 265 and 314's. We had a short run of the 265's and the 314's made up with the larger spraying holes. Not Bosch brand.

The 265 and 314 nozzles are the same except the pintle is different.

I have some photos attached here of the pintle differences of two.

Nice pictures. I have some new nozzles waiting to go in now. The pintles have 3 flats on them. I'll try to post some pictures later on.

where did u get these nozzles and what kinda performance gains did you get from them? im very interested, i will be replacing my nozzles very soon and am looking for what would be the best to replace them with, i am leaning toward the monark nozzles but if these nozzles you speak of yield some decent gains then i would be very interested, i found a place near me that balances injectors so i would just take them there after i get the nozzles i decide to go with.

Here's a couple shots of my new injector pintles:

Sorry for the fuzz, it's hard to shoot something that small without a scope...

We had them produced by one of the same manufacturers we use for the Cummins and DuraMax injectors. We are in the fuel injection business and have been for about 8 years now.

I cant give any performance reports because I have no dyno work done on these yet. They are actually not for sale, but being tested. We have been running this same design in one of our personal cars ( 1987 TD Wagon ) with tweaks to ALDA/AFC system and some timing modifications. They run great, but how much power they add has not been measured. I suspect a max of 20 HP in the mid range. With the car in reverse gear is it almost too snappy, but some of that is the ALDA/AFC. Im certain most if this could be tuned out.

Back last summer we could get some black smoke with a heavy foot and car load of people during the time when the transmission shifted. Again, some of this could be tuned out with the ALDA/AFC.

I suspect they will be costly compared to some of the stuff on the market I see now. 300-400 dollar range, plus or minus seems about where they will end up.
