Hi,

Is this intercooler any good?

What I've been thinking about is that I use an a/w intercooler but eliminate the water radiator (so I'll have the IC, pump and reservoir).

Instead of the radiator I'll connect the hot side of the intercooler's water to the evaporator of my lpg system. The evaporator is used to turn the liquid petroleum gas to a gaseous state and while doing so it draws heat. If it is not connected to a warming source it will freeze and the lpg won't flow anymore.

So the idea is this:

intercooler - (heats the water = hot water) - evaporator (cools the water = cold water) - reservoir - and cold water from the resevoir to - intercooler.

LPG is used under load (kicks in at about 4 psi), so before 4 psi I don't need neither cold or hot water, but once the car is under load, the water will start warming up, and the evaporator will cool it down. At low lpg flows i.e. cruising there isn't a lot of lpg flowing so the water doesn't have to be very warm.

Any flow in this idea?

It will work in principle, but the without calculating the amount of energy needed to vaporize the LP, there is no way of knowing how much cooling you will get. It seems to me that the LP usage would need to be quite substantial to significantly cool the intake charge.
What you need to do is compare the heat of LP vaporization*LP mass flow rate with the required heat removal from the intake charge.

The cooling can still be cured with a radiator if this way doesn't work.

Is that intercooler any good?
