Try to take a pic and post it up. We can probably figure out a way to resolve the issue. http://www.w124performance.com/image...E300-Turbo.jpg |

my freind do you see the coupling near number 20? far off left, it has no part number or anything thats it there, thats the piece i need help much appreciated since this thing is frustrating me |
|
How big is the hole??? May be way cheaper and faster to patch the hole... |
|
#20 is a completely integrated unit, so it has no separate pieces. You either patch the hole or buy a new one. Depending on the type and location of the hole, you might be able to patch it with sheet aluminum and JB Weld or some such combo. |

dealer tolm me to get whole new intercooler what can i use to patch it, will fiberglass hold up the heat? |
|
As luck would have it, I have the whole thing apart right now as I'm replacing the radiator. Looking at the assembly, if it was me, I'd pull the whole thing and put a bolt through the hole with some sort of sealant like silicone. If it's not a round hole, you can probably use some fiberglass mat and JB weld working from the inside for strength. |

Just came back in from horsing around more with the IC/radiator project. On my car, the inlet (passenger side) is aluminum and the outlet is plastic. I would think it's no problem to just get it welded up. |

How big is the hole? I would think you can easily repair it. The intercooler only sees about 15 PSI of air pressure at the most. Plastic parts can even be repaired by melting using a hot screwdriver tip or knife blade. If you post a photo of the damage maybe we can suggest a way to repair it. Another suggestion would be to search on one of the salvage sites search engines like this one: http://www.car-part.com/ I saw 4-5 listed there. |
