A working VNT controller!

http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=19438.0

It's a bit of a DIY. Some pic programming, a little circuit board making. If I can do it, so can you!

Interesting, this is using the vac pod actuator. I am working on getting the electronic actuator working. Probably a winter project for me.

I'll try to integrate engine speed and engine load (vcv on IP for the vac signal for the tranny) as parameters besides boost to control the N75 valve of the TDIs.
Let's see what my buddy develops.

This is what I am going to with the arduino board I have. Linkage position sensor (85 only) + boost analog signal + tach signal + pyro temp. I have 2 '85 IP's with the rack position sensor which I could use as well but I have a M pump to put on which is an older one, I dont think they have the electronics the om60x pumps did.

Check out the thread I have on the actuator. If I can get a scope I will have a working controller soon.

me too.
But to use all the potential of a VTG it needs more than just limit boost.
I installed a vac and boost gauge in my Golf TDI to see how the control works. It is really more and it makes sense.
So, a black box boost and load signal in - PWM out to a vac valve (out of the TDIs) connected to the vac actuator.

Depending on how fast (as in sampling speed) you need it to be, I may be able to loan you one.

I am actually about 5 hours South of you, in GNV. But, we could arrange something. I will take a pict of what I have and make sure at least one of the traces work. Then it is time to find the probes.

It will be a tektronix something-or-another.
