Picking a Turbo
I may be getting my hands on a second 617.952 driven vehicle for a project car. One car will become a decent w123, the other will be an almost-all-out performance car.
I'd like to stay variable vane (If it's cheap enough) what would you guys recommend for the performance car? The DD will be getting my GT2056V, stealthy gauges, rack limiter removed. No performance mods beyond that. If it all goes as planned(haha) the performance car will be getting the following: Rack limiter removed Torque control raised 25-30lbs boost 3" stack 1GPM/cylinder methanol&water Lincoln-locked differential Underdrive aluminum pulleys No power steering Electronic fan On/off switch for the alternator I want to show the local Cummins guys a thing or two....

You were running 3GPM per cylinder (15GPM total) and only saw a 2hp gain?
I'm aware that supplying fuel will be a challenge. I'd prefer to get a big turbo plumbed in first, and then work on fueling to match.

If you want 25-30psi, you'll pretty much need at least a 71mm compressor which puts it into the GT3x turbo range. The 59 and 60mm wheels of the GT22, 23 and 25 can't push more than 25psi at the 617 airflow needs (~35lb/min@30psi@4500rpm). |
