603.971 Manifold on w124 - Forseen problems?

I am working on a "project" and it will involve using the egr / trap ox / replacement pipe-less manifold

However, as this is my only car, I need to make sure everything is going to work before I start to take things apart

Does anyone know (Sixto, Babymog perhaps?) if there will be any problems mating the newer manifold to the exhaust? I think the exhaust flange on the w124 is a 3 bolt, while the w140s flange is 2. I suppose I could just take it off..but then I am also concerned that the exhaust will be too high, since the EGR manifold runners go up, and the w140 goes down.

Anyone have any experience with this?

You'll probably have to re-clock the turbo, and fabricate the downpipe connection to the exhaust system. I'm not sure whether the .97 uses the same plumbing connections for the crossover pipe, either.

I believe my .970 uses the same bits as a .96x. From the pics I have seen the crossover pipe on the .971 looks just like mine.

The egr port is about 22mm so i guess thats a no go for an egt sensor? Will cutting it down and welding over it leave any flow problems?

on my 617a with egr port I also welded but from inside only. After grinding the inside you don't see anything and it looks stock from outside.
