Hi Jeemu...

Amazing things you guys do!.... Gotta get me one of Those!

Ive been researching a little but cant find much info on the usual choice of turbo apart from its Make, Holset HX50 appears popular....

looking on Holset site, this is a Huge Truck turbo for engines of 10-15 Litre, and reasonably available here in U.K....

Would you know if this is the best model, (HX50 or HX55?) and in what 'Trim' would be suitable for OM.606?

--Or should I look for one that came off a certain truck or engine....?

Thanks!

Hi. Here is Holset HX40 size turbo the most popular. Kompressor 60mm and turbine 65mm.

This Master Power what i got is kompressor 65mm and turbine 69mm
as you see there is 3bar of boost and only 1.8bar backpressure .
Some my friends have they 606 HX55 at 72mm kompressor and 80mm turbine.

Thanks, Jeemu, Great info....

Do you happen to know, if the HX40 is 'normally' supplied with those size rotors, or is it a special-order from a turbo dealers?

Thanks again....

HX40 is those size wheels. Super is same size but is little better and can be drive higher boost.

If you want mega power that is too little turbo on 606. as it is on 605 when we go over 450hp and 2bar boost.

I filmed new video today. i got 3bar of boost and Master Power 65mm kompressor. 1st gear it smokes, second little less, rest of gears just puf on gear change. and pump is Mynä-Diesel 170

HX40 is great if you like having the power of a non-turbo engine below 4000rpm though!

That spool better than you say and revs better on the high rpm.
i got hx40 on 5cyl 3700-5800rpm over 500nm.

Edit: Here is about 5years old dyno graph at 606 and hx40

I'm convinced!

I would be more than happy with those figures!

Thats at WOT, hows it perform in actual use (non race conditions)?
The HX40 is known to be a dog for daily driving even on the 5.9L Cummins. Since your engine has 1/2 that displacement, I doubt you'd get any boost at all unless you're beating the snot out of the throttle.
The 606 is nothing comparable to a 617. The VE of a non-turbo 606 is near that of a turbo 617!

By V.E. --I'm assuming you mean Volumetric Efficiency...?

--How can the old two-valve OM.617 be better VE than a quad-valver 605/6 motor!??

Boost rice nice at part gas, no need always be full load. these are smaller than cummins but these also take rpm s more than cummins. So the differens not that big. And daily use dont need that 3bar boost.

I drive my own car ewery day all my drivings.
