pakosarja exhaust header flanges 617
Hi I am sending in a flange pattern to a waterjet cutter in Lincoln Nebraska an thought i would mention here so anyone else may have access to a supplier,I havn't figured if i need 3/8" or 1/2" thick. the guy quoted $75 per piece---These are for the 617.

Is the guy supplying the material for the $75? That's not a bad deal. Are you sending a .dxf file or just dimensions?

Shoot, you could send the guy a manifold gasket for that matter...

I dont think the manifold gasket is even port matched very well--Besides that I have to account for 1/8 wall tubing to fit in the port holes so port matching will be easy with a little die grinder work once the header is being assembled. Due diligence.

OK I remembered that when I had this guy do flanges for me before that these are PLAZMA -Not water jet. these 3.0 ltr Merc intake pieces required a hr or so with a die grinder to get back to Zero--but I sent him cardboard tracings last time. Anyone who knows a water jet --or plazma guy who will do the exhaust flanges let me know-we could try him.

I may have access to a plasma. Actually I am certain that I do...Ideally, these would be drawn up in CAD and then put into the computer. But my office is in a Fab shop where there is a plasma. I could certainly get some stuff made.

When I get the ports sized for accounting for tubing fitting inside the holes then you scann it--and clean it up I suppose, Can you ask your go to man how much each piece will cost-is it less per piece for more? I think we might find a few interested people here. Also Exhaust pipe and tubing are apparantly two different things--I was figuring on 1/8 extra for the tubing wall thickness-a little bigger-to Zero, would be better than a little smaller on the port match.

I can get the raw material for cheap most likely, they sell drops (pieces to small for their use) for very cheap. Then I can pay a guy a bit to Plasma it and make some extra cash. You do all the legwork for measurements and if possible get it in CAD and I will get it cut and come up with a price shipped. I am not in this to make money, just to provide a service that would otherwise cost a lot!

I am in Ocala, FL. I added that to my profile...apparently I overlooked that! Am I correct in that that guy quoted $75 for a completed flange? I can certainly beat that...I really do not feel like doing the extra tooling for the edges after the plasma so I will leave that to the end user. Could you get it drawn up as a CAD?

I asked my CAD friend what I need to just drop it right into the plasma computer:
"All layers must be purged except the layer containing lines that need to be cut, then the file must be saved as a .dxf." So...get that to me and I can get it done. My friend said he'd do it if I need him to. Let me know! BTW, why do you need the flanges exactly?
