0603 IP leaks with pics
Hi all
I have an injection pump leak. The usual suspects are leaking - delivery valves and bottom plate (so no concerns there). But there are other things leaking too. Bottom right hand arrow shows something that has permatex ultra on it. upper right arrows by the stop valve are leaks too. Looks like possibly leaking from the bolts. Basic question is can I repair this? Or do I need to get a new IP. What's the thing that has permatex ultra on it? Should I just replace that? I am going to search around to see if I can find out what that thing is. I need to look for an exploded view of the injection pump too .. (I'll hit the search button) I think I will now use brake clean to clean up the oil and see where the seeps are coming from. just hoping someone with experience can advise. Slightly zoomed in and different angle for clarity There is also oil below ... is this from the injection pump leaking down perhaps? I think I will clean it up and see where it leaks from. But if anyone knows from experience, it would be good to know.

Sorry guys!

The usual suspects are not only the DVs but also the stop lever o-ring. The stop lever is probably what is soiling those two bolts, not the bolts themselves.
I would suggest fixing those two before looking at anything else. Chances are that's it's just those two making a mess all over the place. The bottom picture is the power steering cooling line. Looks to be the low pressure one so it should be cheap. The permatex is on the VCV fresh air intake. Presumably they couldn't find the proper rubber fitting. |

Hi there
Thank you very much for replying. It would have taken me a while to dig through all the information on these boards to realize that the stop lever o-ring is probably a culprit! Thank you for the advice. It makes perfect sense to try these first since they are the easiest to get to and replace before starting to get too invasive. Quote:

For the vent line fitting on the VCV, currently a blob of RTV, look for Vacu-tite item 47411 in the generic repair doodads section of an auto parts store. This elbow can be made to fit with some forcing and looks close to original.

I have that problem too... is there any danger of altering the pump calibration while removing/replacing that ring?!

O-Ring on the "STOP" lever (On the I.P.)
Nah.
Read the R+R procedure in the FSM first, though.
