w210 td intercooler measurements

looking to upgrade the intercooler to a bigger nicer one and was wondering if anyone has done this the same. whats the dimensions?

To do anything to modify will envolve jerry rigging.They just don't make after market parts.I run 19 psi boost without intercooler 2 years.So I don't think a larger intercooler would pay off.

As you've seen, the intercooler ducks under and around the tow hook. As far as I can tell, you would have to eliminate the tow hook in order to fit anything else in there.

I'd have to weld up something different under the chassis to replace it as I'm reluctant to have a vehicle with no means to pull it from the front.

Why did you run without the intercooler? Did you install a strait pipe?

Second Merc died due to corrosion ( NOT rust) How can mercedes get away with that for so long?
Third lasted a month then went away...
Fourth now... Corroded too...

Intercoolers seem to pay off when installed in every OEM turbo application on the planet in the last 15 years..
