05 06 E-320 CDI Immoblizer

I am doing a cutom installation of a 2005 E-320 turbo diesel CDI. I understand that the computer, smart key and dash cluster is needed to make this work. Is there a way to get around this if you are not using the Mercedes transmission? I can get the transmission function removed from the computer, can I use a conventional ignition system to run the engine? Is the limp home mode in the transmission or in the fuel management system?

That is a CAN BUS system = they communicate constantly.
The disabler is as nasty as possible by design.

A conventional ignition system will NOT run the engine without total system re-design = custom computer + custom software.
Limp mode and disabler is in each module.

not that I am aware of.

Everything is electronic = constantly variable control in millisecond increments.

I do not believe it is possible, short of $$$ millions for R&D.

The power/MPG loss for a mechanical system (guessing minimum 1/3 - 1/2) would be huge.
