Oh okay, I thought I was the only one experiencing this problem, good to know I'm not. I thought I was gonna have to take the old computer out back and put it down lol

yesterday and few days ago same thing happened. residue of malware wars going around, me thinks  DNS services went missing on many many sites..... .
