Alda delete question?

Is it possible to delete the arm in the IP? My alda is off and the arm is mounted in the cover plate via spring/retaining clip. I take this counts as it being deleted considering Ive never seen anyone discuss removing anything further but is it possible or am I wasting my time and I should just cap it?

You can take the captive nut off, but you're still left with the rod.

The rod is riveted inside the IP, you'd have to grind the rivet off and fish it out, while making sure that none of the filings stay inside the IP.

So yeah, you've got to take the pump apart

Ack. Screw that. I'll have it removed when I get a Myna pump down the road since it will be apart. So I want to leave the rod hung with the spring and clip correct?

Yup. If you want a cleaner look, pull the clip&spring (WITHOUT losing them), remove the circular thingy, then the loose nut thingy. Reassemble the round part and the spring/clip for a cleaner look.

Im actually retaining the nut as I hope to fashion some sort of cap. Leaving things like that open in a water crossing offroad is no good

Once you get it apart you will see how it all seals. A rubber cap on the round thingy will seal better than something threaded onto the nut.
