stripping it down need help

i have a 1982 300cd, its going to be a long term project for me trying to go more for a muscle car feel. looking to keep only the things needed to run and drive. im have been building up cars for many years now but new to the diesels. there are alot of vacuum lines and nic nats under that hood and would like help eliminating all unnecessary parts. it is currently a automatic at the moment but would like to change that this winter so would need to keep tranny related stuff for now. the cruise and ac are off already,(the big parts not sure what all works with them) heater core is about the only thing i would like to work ( winters are bad here ) pics would be the biggest help. thanks mbz noob

OK so done more searching on random other sites, (mostly 617 in other cars) seems like there isnt any needed vac lines needed for running ( minus shutting off and brakes ) but could find much with tranny related since I'm keeping the auto for now .

You need the vac line that goes to the round plastic guy on the injection pump (this is the VCV-it controls how hard the transmission shifts), a vacuum line for the shutoff, and obviously the brakes.

The mysterious black box can go, and all the other vac lines run the climate control & door locks.

The car is designed so that if everything fails, you're left with the heater blowing hot air through the defroster. If you don't want the climate controller setup, you can zip-tie vents open as you like under the dash
