Question pressur in cylinder cover

I have a 85 300D turbo with over 200K miles .starts even at -20c. good acceleration. good on "gas". BUT pressure is built under the valve cover that causes oil to leak out of the oil filling cap. mainly after idling.
no pressure leak from dip stick.
any suggestions.
Jonathan

I suggest you have blowby.

This is normally vented back into intake through recirculation valving or just a direct pipe from valve cover to intake. Which may be controlled by vacuum, so that more is accepted at high rpm and less is accepted into the intake at low rpm...

Do not obstruct that pipe. Just don't.

There's a seal on the oil cap. Might want to check that, too.
