standard injection pump om603 to om606

Do I need to upgrade from a pump injection turbo diesel om603 to apply it in om606 turbo diesel engine that had the power of 177hp?

if standard om603 turbo diesel pump injection is not efficient enough to get the full power of 177hp ???? Do I need to modify it ??? i need only 177hp power.

If done correctly, the 603's are more than capable of making 200+ hp..

Keep the ECU, sensors, trans and electronic IP with the 606.962 and chip it; instant 50 hp increase.

In fact, just start with a W210, its so much nicer and safer than the others.

If you use this method adjusting http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/ip-full-load-adjustment-procedure-for-mw-pumps-t-189.html, the pump will produce 177 hp ???

If i use manual boost controller turbocharger is will be work correctly?

Since you don't say for sure, I'm guessing you're trying to install an OM606 into a car with a mechanical injection pump. If so, the 6mm elements from the OM606 pump can be swapped into the OM603 pump and calibrated by a Diesel injection shop. The 6mm elements will give you the 177 HP you require.

On the other hand, the 5.5mm elements in the OM603 pump may already supply enough fuel for 177 HP and you'll simply have to adjust the pump to that power. You might want to try this approach first and if it's not satisfactory, swap in the 6mm's.

do so exactly. try to use a standard pump from om603 and if it will not work well bet 6 mm elements. It is better to pump gave advice on standard parts

the use of manual boot controller is a good method of controlling the turbocharger ???

Would it be a problem to translate elements from 6mm pump om606 to om603 mechanical pump??

(moved from diesel discussion)

I haven't done this myself, am working on one though. The common knowledge here seems to be that the 603 pump should be able to put out enough fuel for around 200hp. The 606 pump depends on whether it is a 606NA or a 606turbo, the 606NA has the same elements as the 603 (5.5mm) where the 606turbo has larger 6mm elements.

Another factor might be the injection rate, which is determined by the profile of the cam in the pump. It is my guess that the 603.97x pump (3.5L) has a higher injection rate than the 603.96x pump (3.0L) due to the need for injecting more fuel in the same time frame, both for the larger dislacement and for the intended lower emissions.

I have not compared the cams in the pumps, would love to but the $$ involved in having them put back together properly is not in my educate the forum budget.

The deciding factor between 606 and 603 pumps might be that the 606 pumps require the electronics of the 606 engine and later cars. If you're using a 603 engine or a car that is pre-606, you're likely going to be using a 603 pump.

The stock 603.9X pump probably maxes out at around 175-180hp. It remains to be seen whether the same maxed out pump can meet or exceed the stock power figures when installed on a 606t. Myna indicates that they can't upgrade the 603.97 pumps to 7mm elements due to the cam profile--not entirely sure why. Installing a 606t into a 124 requires much more work than just adding a mechanical IP--lots of swapping, tweaking and a bit of welding.

Even if you're swapping out a 606NA?

I have a pump 603,960 om603 turbo diesel. I want full adjusting this pump and use in om606 turbo diesel, if it can produce 177hp power.

If the pump full adjusting om603 turbo pump not work well whether it is to transform the interior of the pump om606 turbo diesel to pump om603 without major and costly modifications???

I hope that the oryginal not modyfication om603 turbo diesl pump can be set full adjust and get 177hp power.

I've actually never seen the 606.10 (124) version of the IP, so I can't say for sure whether some of the issues are the same. I've also never seen the oil filter tower or oil pan--they need to be swapped over from the 603 to the 606, since the 210 version of those parts won't work in a 124.

Theoretically, your 603 pump should be able to produce roughly the same power output as the stock (unmodified) 606 pump, assuming you turn up the full load screw. It won't offer the same smoothness and optimized fuel delivery under a variety of engine conditions as the 606 pump, but it should run reasonably well. Swapping in the 6mm elements from the 606 pump is a big deal, and would probably cost about the same as a complete pump rebuild.

I would use this write-up, since the author's an expert with the OM60x engines

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm looking to properly install a 603 IP on a 606 DT LA... this link is dead. Anyone have it saved or reposted anywhere else?
