How electric superchargers work


There's not enough here yet to truly get excited, but I like the idea of bolting this on and reducing spool-up, esp when not yet warm.

Pretty neat device. My concern would be sustained operation because I'm sure this uses more amps than the alternator puts out. It would be nice to have this compounded with a larger traditional turbo as it would be less complex than compounding standard turbos.

However, at that point, a VNT/VGT would be simpler to install.

Find yourself a fairly modern, newer turbo with a twin scroll housing and use a quick-spool valve;)

I'm gonna stick one of these on my 617... :eek:
