That is impossible. Oil is required to be on the cylinder walls to lubricate the piston rings, which would otherwise scuff the surface. That oil is exposed to the combustion flame and inevitably some will get burned.
The entire reason cylinders are honed (scratched) in a cross-hatch pattern is to trap a small amount of oil on the walls for lubrication. Otherwise the cylinders would be polished for minimum friction.
Oil formulation technology has far more to do with reducing oil consumption than piston technology.

Another irrelevant response from the former "Forced Induction". Perhaps saying in an academic or theoretical sense "no oil" is accurate, but it has zero meaning in the real world. In other words, a few drops? An ounce? Most folks change oil in their cars, gas or diesel, and how many folks see any appreciable differences in oil loss? Excluding leaks or faulty components, pretty much nil. The point of the product is that friction / wear is reduced. Stay on topic, please. |
