OM648 Kleemann box tuning
I've purchased and installed the removable Kleemann tuning box on my E320 CDI and put 250 miles on it, with the recommended setting. Very noticeable increase in lower end power and no increase in smoke out the tailpipe. So far I'm glad I spent the $.

They are around for far less than the list price, I did not pay close to retail. Other tuning options are from $400-$750 and many units are not removable; they tune that one engine and it's not changeable meaning you buy it and that's it. This one can be used on different MB engine models and has settings, plus it can be moved from car to car.

Since I drive about a 96hp 300SD, I envy you.

Wasn't the turbocharged OM617 rated at 123HP or so? My SDL was rated 146HP when new (I doubt it makes that now) and it seems to scoot along just fine. Maybe not the fastest off the line, but once it's moving it never breaks a sweat.

You are right. It had 121 hp and in 1982 they increased it to 125. Still pretty weak compared to my 6.3 which I still miss.
