OM617 to OM617A
Hi all, after one year still not on the road. I want to upgrade my engine to OM617A I was wondering if this is a 1:1 swap with my OM617?
Compression/HG is not looking good on the old engine.

Yes, but if your current engine is mated to a manual gearbox you'll need to check the flywheel balance when swapping engines and get it matched to the new engine.
Exhaust pipe change too, or make new. Radiator was fine with the extra power in my case, no A/C or auto box though. Oil cooler bolted up fine too Depending what year you car is, the glow plug system may have been a loop one and while it will still work with standard glow plugs the light doesn't work.
