OM606 NA: Turbo Oil Supply/Drain and Intake

Hi all:

My 95 is in the shop again and I am considering adding a turbo and larger elements to make more power than OEM, to increase driveability: 200 bhp or so.

I want to keep the mixture clean and avoid clouds of smoke, high egts etc. With my power aspirations, I believe I will be able to forgo an intercooler.

I understand I will eat through my 722.4. I understand the NA engine has different rods, valves and camshafts. I understand the NA engine uses a different oil cooler. I realize I will need to change a few items: exhaust manifold, IP elements, exhaust etc.

I want to know three things:

1) has anyone tapped the NA block to allow for a turbo oil drain? Any information on building an oil supply line from the oil filter housing to the turbo would also be appreciated.

2) Has anyone used the factory NA intake/cross over tube and fabricated a connector ot cross over tube to the turbo outlet?

3) Does the modified IPs by Dieselmeken/(Benzforce)/DPUK allow for retaining the factory cruise control?

Thanks in advance,

Because the Oil draining out of a turbo is mostly done by gravity the where the Oil Drain enters the engine it has to enter the crankcase above the level of the Oil in the Pan.

The compressor wheel draws in clean air, compresses it, and delivers high pressure air through the intake manifold to the engine cylinders.‪ Oil for lubricating the turbocharger is supplied under pressure through an external oil line extending from the oil filter adaptor to the top of the center housing. I tapped my 96 block " has casting provision" just behind the alternator below the T-stat by the pan rail.

6mm elements max, and a t3 48mm I have a t3/t4 hybrid on my car .63Ar turbin and a stage 3 turbine wheel with a t4 compressor 52mm. No intercooler, with a DSL1 from baldur and the 6mm pump. Can build turbo manifold using the NA exhuast manifolds they are cast steel weld away to make a y pipe and 3 inch exhaust from turbo to bumper should make for a nice driver around 15-20psi. DpumpUk also now has a nice cast manifold I just don3t understand why the angle the damn turbo, makes downpipe construction a pain in the ass for no reason. I got my oil supply by pulling out a blocking plug on the oil filter housing and tapping it for 1/8 pipe thread, used a 30 inch -3 Premade oil feed hose.

-10 drain to pain rail.

Also, upgrade the headgasket to a later style MLS and bolts.

If you want pics, holler

Sounds like a nice setup! I'd love to see some pics. I'm researching everything I need to turbo my car and I would like to run it on lower boost non-intercooled as well.

PM sent!
