Testing the water for a fall/winter New England GTG?

Well the summer one was ok, but only about half if not less of the people that said they were going to show actually did. I went to a Benzworld meet on the other hand and their were 30+ cars their! Come on we can do better! So my thinking is to start the thread real early so members that are not on the forum all of the time will see it. It will also give use all a chance to make the time to come! Now I would like to make this one special somehow, any ideas? We also need a better location, parking lots are ok but if you have a 3 hour drive ahead of you it has to be worth your time to come down.

So lets throw around a few ideas on location and possible events.
We also need a rain/snow/cold date!
I am thinking maybe the middle of December?

Could one of the mods make this a sticky maybe? Me goal for this gtg is at least 25 cars, I know we can do that come on Mercedesshop!

Would love to come but my car doesn't move out of my driveway as long as there is a trace of salt on the road.

It usually doesn't snow much until January that is why I am thinking December. The roads should be fine. Or come without your car just having people show up is great!

bump for a new england gtg

i missed the last one but we have to get this going again. the recent most successful gtg's were at colt state in RI and hammonasset in CT. there was also a good one in hartford CT that was accessable for a lot of members.

Their are a lot of people in New England, we should be able to get 50 cars to turn out. But the reality is that if a dozen show were doing good. I don't care where it is Hammonasset is nice but location doesn't matter to me. But somewhere in CT or RI is probably a good choice. CT/RI are kind of in the middle.

Hammonasset was nice for the first one and then the second was in a park over on the east bay of RI and that was nice too, right on the water. I have been very busy and so unable to attend the most recent event. I should however be able to get to one in December. Wheres Holson Adi and Spo123? They are usually up for this kinda thing. I'll bring my portable construction heater and a canopy if its cold. RT

Great opportunity to drive other diesels.... that should be a selling point.

I attended the June 2003 New England GTG and it was great fun to drive a 126 300SD instead of my usual 123 240D. Excellent chowder and cold beer too.
