So far I count 13 attendees, although almost half of them are "maybe."

Forecast for Sunday 6:

Isolated T-Storms
High 79°F
Low 47°F
Precip: 30%

lets hope their prediction is a day early!

I'm a definite, and I'm bringing MTUpower with me. We're getting together this afternoon to change my antifreeze and monovalve.

Here are some directions I pulled off the internet:

From the North, South ,and West take I64 East out of Richmond. Exit at Laburnum Avenue, bearing right off the exit onto Laburnum Ave. Proceed South on Laburnum. Go approximately 4 miles, crossing Williamsburg Rd. and passing the Nabisco Plant on the right. Turn left onto Darbytown Road and proceed 1 mile. Entrance to Dorey Park is on the right.

From the East proceed I64 West and exit at Laburnum Avenue before entering Richmond. Directions are the same as above from there.

Hope to see a lot of you!

Scott

Directions to VA GTG

Directions to Dorey Park near Richmond Airport

From I-64 traveling East If traveling east on I 64 from Richmond take exit #195 Laburnum Ave. at the end of the ramp turn right and head south on Laburnum Ave. Drive to the 8th traffic light. and Turn Left on to Darbytown Road. Dorey park is on the right about 1.4 miles from the intersection of Laburnum and Darbytown Rd. Drive all the way to the end of the road to the back of the park (1.3 miles) There is a large marked parking area near the lake . There are shelters and pinic tables and bathrooms nearby.

From Tidewater I-64 westbound. Take Exit 195 laburnum ave. Turn Left at the light at then end of the exit ramp and head south on Laburnum. You will have 1 extra traffic light to go through.

From I 95 south of Richmond, take the I-895 expressway ($ 2.00 toll) and get off at Laburnum ave. It's marked as the way to RIC airport. Darbytown road is about 2 miles from the exit off 895. Turn left on to Darbytown Rd. I think it is only 2 traffic lights to Darbytown Rd.

See you there around 1:30 PM on Sunday Nov 6

I won't be making it...was putting my block heater in my W123 today and had a lot of problems getting it apart toget to it.. Block heater is in but the manifolds and turbo are still sitting on my basement floor....Its too dark to keep working tonight.

I'm into at least half the day tomorrow too if I have no more problems...since I still need to do the valves when I am done. And its a 2 hour drive one way.

Will you be driving down 270, round the beltway, and south on 95? If so, what time to you anticipate passing through on the beltway?

still haven't got mine together and I certainly won't be done in time....was hopeing to meet the guys I havent yet....particuarly MTU power...but my W116 is still down for the radiator. I need to flush out the transmission yet in case coolant got in from the cooler leak. So I consider it undrivible just yet.

Just got home at 9. Almost ended up in a pile up on 95N, we all had to slow suddenly and the guy behind me locked up the wheels and slid past me in the shoulder. That would have been fun.

Had a fun time meeting you all, see everyone at the next one.

frankenbenz

had a great time today even if frank was acting up, btw the other half got on me when she saw everyone listing the car as mine so shhh its our little secret did managed to get pulled over for speeding about 5 minutes from my house. im still trying to figure out how that happened with a 616 but oh well. the cop was nice and we talked about a benz he regreted selling. oh yeah and i almost ended up in the tail of that same pile up, oh what a tangled web we weave.

Had a great time, so nice putting faces to board names. Hit a deer after dropping off MTUpower, well I should say skimmed one, so nobody thinks the car is trashed. No damage, but I have some fur on the fender I'll get a pic of and post. It's nice to meet people that care about their cars, unlike about 80% of the population that think they are just transportation. Appreciated all of the knowledge that was passed on, you guys are ready and able to answer questions I had. Anyway, enough of that. Here's a pic.

I very much enjoyed everyone's company as well. The weather was absolutely perfect, far above the normal temp. Despite my having to leave earlier than I wanted to, it was worth the trip.
