Virginia GTG....
Is anyone planning a GTG in the Virginia area anytime in the future?? We are in Richmond and would love to get together with other diesel friends... Our cars are not perfect... But from what I have read here, it sounds like fun...

Count me in for any GTG. I'm out in Midlothian, so anywhere in Richmond would be excellent. There are a few others on the site, most in Northern VA I believe.
My car is far from perfect, but should be quite a lot better when I take it out in the spring.

I'm up just west of DC in Northern VA, I miht be interested as long as its after the road salt has been washed off the roads and the wife isn't on one of her tangents she frequently goes off on.

I'm in North Carolina, but only 20 miles south of Virginia and less than 100 from Richmond. ... Don't have a Mercedes yet, either, but maybe by the GTG time I will. Or maybe I would find one with a "For Sale" sign in the window at the GTG.
 I'm looking for an older diesel for a reliable (but inexpensive) daily driver.

Ah, the VA GTG thread is back.
 I would love to be able to make it to a diesel GTG. I haven't been to one in ages. It all depends on when and where it is, since I work two jobs and time off is hard to come by.Let me know when and where, and I will do everything in my power to be there. I've been all over the country going to TDI GTGs... Utah, Michigan, Vermont, etc. It's about time I made it to a Mercedes gathering, especially one in Virginia.

Count me in now all we need is a date. How about sunday afternoon November 6. The Last VA gtG was at Dorey Park in Eastern Henrico County near the airport. Lots of places to park and several shelters in case of rain

OK, Then shall we plan on Sunday November 6, 2005 at Dorey Park in Eastern Henrico County near the airport. Say we start to show up around 1:30 PM until when ever. We will be back on Eastern Standard time so it will be dark around 5:30 pm. That should give everyone a chance to take care of the early Sunday morning commitments and have enough time at the GTG to make it home by dark. I will check on where we can best all park side by side and what other rules the park may have. I think the shelters are first come first serve unless you have rented them for an event. Everyone can bring what ever they want to eat or snack on and we'll all look under each others hoods and marvel at the German engineering.
 I will post maps and driving directions later this week if it looks like a go for that date and time. Hope to See you all there Russ
