Mid-Atlantic GTG, July 30

Heres a repost of the thread from the Diesel forum. July 30th 10am-ish here in Frederick MD.

Have had a few responses awhile back but I'd like to see if there is still enough interest to hold one here.

Please respond if you're in or send me a PM.

All models are welcome, gas or diesel, or even if your MB is off the road, bring what you can.

The wife's plans changed; 7/30 looks open for me at this point.

My 300TE needs a good road trip anyway

I'm looking forward to meeting you, Johnhef.

John,

How about some directioms to get to 5805 Bells Lane from I70 going east. A good start would be the exit number.

sorry, I just assumed everyone used www.mapquest.com

going east from frederick on I-70 it's exit 56. There is no westbound exit at 56

going west from baltimore on I-70 it's exit 59. There is no eastbound exit at 59

Both exits are for RT-144.

John,

I Never heard of Mapquest but I'm glad you told me about it.

I gleaned the directions below from Mapquest and The Rand McNally Road Atlas:

From Frederick MD, going east on I-70, get off at exit 56 and go south to Route 144. Then go east on Route 144 to Bells Lane/Quinn Road. Turn right onto Bells Lane. Go south about 900 feet on Bells Lane to 5805.

Is this correct?

5805, but yeah thats dead on. I don't know about that quinn orchard road, but the exit from 70 dumps you right on 144 so you should be ok.

here are some maps:

John,

Looks like Quinn Orchard Road goes south from 144. So I corrected the directions and address.

How did you enter the maps into MS forum and put the numbers and marker lines on the maps?

Are U having a barbeque or cookout that we would all contribute $ to?

Good idea... too bad Bill Murrow isn't coming. His grillin' and setup was off the hook at the last Northeast GTG... so what do you suggest? We chip-in $ or bring food/drinks?? Whatever everyone agrees to is okay with me...

N E GTG Attendees,

Each bring his own or a group collection for the victuals. Whatever is decided is OK with me.

However, we should ask if John is agreeable to getting the provisions or if someone else wants to do it. Maybe we could take a vote to see what everyone wants to do.

John, do you have a charcoal or gas grill there we could use to cook some burgers or franks?

P E H
