I just tried the U-pull-it and they said they had no 123s, although they didn't seem too interested in searching very hard. When were you last there? Any idea what the German yard is called? It's ok if it's out of the way...I am getting desperate.

Half of the yard people around here don't even have a clue...

...asked them one time if they had any mercedes with round headlamps (trying to make it easy for them).

"Nope".

Went to the yard anyway and saw 3 of them.

Yeah whats up with that. People their are A-Holes.

I think I'm going to start my own Junkyard some day. There is no coordination or filing system whatso ever. You also think they would find a way to update their website besides their address and telephone. They could be making some big bucks doing either, yet they continue to act like a bunch of dumb ass rednecks (I came from a town of a lot of them).

I haven't been to the lot in about 4 months. But the secret to asking over the phone about what cars they have is to ask if they have any Mercedes at all. They can usually tell you that they do and then tell you the model year. Asking them to dig any deeper is usually a waste of time at any lot.

Looks like I'm going to have to bail on the GTG. The fuel lines sprung a leak somewhere and it's nailing like mad. As soon as I give it any throttle the return line goes white with bubbles. Until I fix this I don't think I can even make it to Portland.

What is it with my car? Reliability is still elusive.

Ahh mac2

That is a bummer. I was looking forward to checking out your car. I just got back from taking mine on its first spin since the new water pump. Second spin ever I guess.

You should bring it up anyway early if it will make it and we can tinker around with it. You could Call Brandon (He left his number on there) and he Knows way more than I do and we can mess around with it here at my house. OR if you are near him you could do it down there early in the morning. Fuel Problems on my car have been the easiest thing to fix. I think he has some extra line ass well. I do but it is the wrong size.

I sure hope you can make it. If not we will take plenty of Pictures.

Well replaced the water pump. Dummy me. I finally found what was up with that bolt. I was looking at the wrong one. The one I wanted was about an inch above that hiding in a bunch of dirt and oil. I didn't need to take the allen off after all.

So after getting it all back together I noticed a small drip leak out of the air release tube on the top of the block. I tightened it and it still leaked. I gave it one last mall tug and it broke off and water sprayed out. F^%$ I said to myself. But luckily I had an extra in my 240D sitting in my garage and since these bolts have the small hole to release air I was able to get a screw driver on it and pound it around with a hammer and then unthreaded it. Put the new one in and started up. The only problem now is small oil leak out of the oil chain tensioner and ( I JUST BROKE MY HEADLIGHTS)

I was taking my wife on a cruise for the first time to the University near by and I was trying to get my fog lights to turn on. They didn't so I played with the knob a bit more and then the lights in the dash crapped out. I did it one more time and the headlights went out. So I had to go home on the back streets in the dark. I'll see what it is up with those in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing you all in tomorrow moring. Looks like it is going to be a semi clear day. Time to roll back the sun roof. Might be a bit cold for that in the morning

Try turning the dimmer switch back and forth, that always fixes my dash lights.

hmmmm.....dimmer switch?

I haven't even located that yet? I'm assuming it is that verticle switch next to it. I think it is more serious then that though. It feels like something let go behind the switch.

Thank you,
This is a W115 so it is a bit different I think. See ya in the morning.

oops. I should read more carefully. Sounds like a faulty headlight switch. See you tomorrow.

Excellent turnout!

Six cars showed and 5 came out on the drive. The sky opened up and we saw some beautiful weather!! Went from the Loyd Center "street parking" over to Multnoma-falls and then up to crown point and back to the falls for lunch.

I believe that it was babyjames that I did not get a picture of your car. I think you had to sneak away before I broke out the camera hehe.

We will get a good picture next time. We enjoyed the smell of your bio-diesel and your son's enterainment

I hope I don't mess up anyones names but here is who attended:

More

BTW if anyone wants individual pictures of their car with the background up at crown point, just let me know and I can email you a high res copy (or any higher resolution copies of the pictures here)

And if a moderator could unsticky this in a few days that would be cool. Want everyone who attended to see it before it dissapears from sticky. Thanks

I agree Mac2,

We did need another w115. Today was pretty awesome. I'd look forward to doing another one in late spring. My car is still going to need a bit of work....went through about 3 Qt's of oil on this trip

Great pictures. It looked cooler in real life cruising down the road. Who knows if I can get my 240D cooking I'll get my wife to come as well.

More work to do that is for sure. Was worth taking it on the drive and to keep me motivated. Cool to know of all the people near by (and not so close) lov'n the benz's.

The highlights of the GTG were

Got to meet people from the forum.
Nobody died.
Some people asked if we were an official Mercedes club.
Alchohol was consumed.
We intimidated at least one Audi driver on the road.

I declare this GTG a success!

I was beat when I got home. I put more than 450 miles on the odometer. Long drive for just one day. I had a great time though.

ummmm.... Brandon314159, could you photoshop my license plate number out of the first photo? I don't want those bicyclists to track me down and beat me up for Addicted's diesel smoke It was fun to see them turn green though
