Portland/Washington GTG

I know we just had one back in February but I think we should do another one some time this spring. Last time we had only a couple weeks notice but I think if we have about a month or a little more we would be able to command a higher presence.

Our last GTG was excellent with 6 people showing and 5 driving for the day. I think I can speak freely for all to say that we had an excellent time. If you didn't hear or are new to the forum then check out this thread as it has some great pictures that Brandon314159 took.

Portland, OR GTG.

I was thinking some time in late April would be another good time for a spring run. Give us all an excuse to get some of that spring cleaning/maintnance done on our vehicles and give them a good run. I graduate and commission on May 6th so that is my last day of freedom before I head off to training and the sandbox. Going to be a long time possibly before I get to see my "girls" again.

We are thinking we would do it in Washington this time as we had a good crowd (2) that drove down here from those parts last time.

So if you are interested lets see if we can get this thing started

#1: A place
#2: A date

how is this? April 1st high noon in Cougar WA near Mt St. Helens. There should be some fun roads to drive on around there and its kind of central.

Mabey meet at or finish at the Cougar Bar And Grill

16849 Lewis River Rd. Cougar WA. 98616-9700

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latitu de=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&cat=&address=16849+Lewis+River+Road&city=Cougar&state=WA&zipcode=

Edit: Or is that too soon?

Hey ConnClark,

That place sounds good. I've never been there but it looks like it is near water and off the interstate. The best part about it is that it is inbetween Seattle and Portland so people from both sides don't have to drive as far. Kind of a meet in the middle thing.

I do think April 1st is to early. I was thinking more around 3rd 4th week of April. I guess we will wait for the replies to come in and see what works best.

Great

Looks like we have a few people interested so far wich is great. I will try and post a couple tentative dates early next week when I get some more responses.

If I can work it out and my 240D is done and get my dad to come up you can count me and my wife in for 3. I'm a goal oriented guy, so I'm hoping we can get around 10. Double what we did last time.

Count me. I have a contest in Olympia on Friday the 7th, but am free that weekend. I also have a contest in Kansas from the 20-23, other than finals the first week of May I am free.

Maybey I should call this bar and see how big their parking lot is. I have never been to Cougar or the bar. I just picked Cougar because it was central and should have some interesting roads. We might have to find another place in there if this thing gets big. I suppose I could call the city and get a recomendation. Mabey I should make sure they have a gas station with diesel while I'm at it.

I don't think it will get that big. But if you could do some reaserch for the area that would be a good thing. After looking at the posts so far it appears most are open any weekend except for a few here an there.

It looks like April 15,16 are dates that are open to all so far. Yet this is Good Friday and Easter Weekend. The following weekend may be better April 22,23 but Bykast can't make it those days it appears. I don't know how many people actually do anything for Easter but I have a feeling it is a few and especially if you are Catholic. There is also the following weekend 29,30.

I am good for either and the later gives us more time. Just post when is better and for those who haven't replied yet (I know there are more out there) if you are interested in comming. I will try and set a date soon.

If it's near Seattle, and on a weekend I don't work, and don't mind me showing up in a Toyota Tacoma, then I am game...
