A W123 with a 617 diesel and a manual.......man, do I want one of those!

If I had one of those I would hardly ever be off of the road because I would be driving and a bigtime

If you take the W123 to the GTG you may have people like me asking you if you would sell it.

Funny you should mention that. Actually I have been thinking of selling it, since I just don't drive it enough.

I just remembered - the odometer has recently started to slip. So I've also avoided driving it before fixing that because I don't want to put unrecorded miles on it. She's currently about 235,000.

Now wait jsut a minute with the carrots on the sticks ....After talking to my wife about W108's and Pontons (I am hoping for a 1958 190D under the Christmas tree this year ) I have just got her blessing for a 1981 300D with the idea that is for our son to drive. To make the 'carrots' look better I have next week off. (both of you are in Florida and I am in the northwest part of Ohio.) Let's do this if you both are agreeable to it. Send me some pictures, information, and asking price. I will travel to an undisclosed location and call my wife and tell her what I would like to do. If there is a report of a mushroom cloud in Ohio you will know how it originated.

At least my wife has accepted the "Pavlov's dog" in me....if I hear some say 'Mercedes' and 'diesel' in the same sentence in am there.

Good news / bad news on Granny Smith, the 82 Euro. The diesel purge and cannister fuel filter have solved the performance problem and the engine is running great. However, after putting in 12 ounces of genuine Freon I found an audible leak at the receiver/drier. I don't have any more time to mess with it right now, so there will be no air for next week. Surf's house is only 25 miles from here, so I'll probably take Granny there anyway.

I kind of expected that the Jetta wouldn't get many votes because they've become pretty common, but only 1 vote for the Jeep really surprises me. I thought you people were a bunch of dieselheads - did you not realize that CRD stands for Common Rail Diesel? It's really a sweet ride.
