Hey Jim! Thanks for the compliments! It was a pleasure to meet you, always great to be able to put a face with a name on the forums! Your SEC is quite handsome, you dont see many of them around anymore looking so sharp!

Thanks to EVERYONE whom made it out today.... people came from near and far -I think it was worth every minute on the road and dollar spent on fuel! Building a true sense of community is priceless. And for those of you whom werent able to make it we all hope youll join us for the next one!

Cant wait for the photos! SirNik's sister came along and seemed to be taking some nice shots of the cars and group so hopefully we will see those too!

More pictures!

We were so busy talking that most of us didn't even get into the auto museum. They (Towe) have a great collection.

I have posted the info on the '83 300DT that I went to see in the Craigslist section. If it had been in better shape I woulda bought it for my wife, but -- oh, well.

Here is a blurb of photos:

I have a lot more, mostly individual car shots, so pretty much the interior, exterior and motor of almost every car that showed up.

Nate,

Maybe next time! Glad you liked my ride, I need to clean up the engine bay more. Some of the ones at the GTG just made me sick, they are so well done. How about a second one for my wife? Either a 240D stick or a 300DT auto would be OK. I'd rather pay more for a nice one than fix up one like I just posted on the Craigslist Alert Thread.

Ahh after the drag race!

should have changed out the fuel filter before we dragged. I knew the car was feeling a little sluggish.

Awesome!

I don't know how else to describe today. it was great a meet everyone! I had a great time! the day started great with the meet up at the auto museum, and only got better. Lunch was good, and then the trip to Pick'n'Pull... that was great. after the yard we all hung arounf takign pictures... dabbling in a litle bit of sportsmen like... racing... and then BSing... I love talking about cars... and getting to do that with a group of guys like we had.. that was great. even after leaving the Pick'n'Pull It was fun. stoping at stoplight srounded by the sounds of diesel engines, and seeing nother but 123s around me... that was awesome... at one point on the drive hom i looked back and all lanes of traffic on the freeway had a set of 123 lights in it! that was very cool!

I have to give a special shout out to Patman because if it wasn't for this meet, and meeting him i'd still be on a hunt for a front bumper.

There were all so many good conversations there is no way i'd be able to talk about them all here.

Most everyone there got a look at my car... and yeah, as Jim B said there are some good stories. so i think i'm going to put together something with pictures for every one to read.

My sister shot 6 or 7 roles fo film... since we are working with film, it will take a while for the pictures to get back to me, but i'm sure there will be some great ones. she took one role of black and white... i'm wondering how that comes out.

To all the Sacramento locals, it was great to see you guys. gettign to meet up and talk cars agian would be great. so lets do it agian soon!

Nik

Again it was a blast. On my way home Rueben blasted past me early and I was wondering where Eric went. Down the road by Vacaville I saw Rueben pulling off the the side (called and he was changing his filter) and Eric cruised by me at 80-85. At the Benicia bridge I saw a really nice 300d turbo pulling along a vintage motorcycle (trailer hitch!) and just sped the rest of the way home. As Nick said, driving around was great, passing eachother and speeding down the freeway. I bet some people were suprised to see the cars moving as they were.

I will be adding more and more pictures to my gallery here:
http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=127528

I also have pictures of all my other cars and w123s on there as well.

Here is a little video of the cars at the Pick and Pull. I think that was the first time I was around too much diesel exhaust with 9 of them standing idle.

Las Vegas is quite a drive from here but I never rule anything out
