Las Vegas would be quite a trip! It might be cool to see how many members would be interested in a meet in that area- its centrally located for SoCal members, NV members, AZ members, etc... and its just a couple hours further than LA for us in N.Ca.... maybe something to think about for the late spring when the snows have passed and the Sierras are clear... Could you imagine all the fun it would be if we had the group we had today caravaning to L.A.?

In the meantime I'd be down for a g2g in the Bay Area, lots of great roads off of 280, 1, and the like.

Nice to meet everyone! I had fun talking with a bunch of like minded enthusiasts. Hopefully there will be more meets sometime soon (1-2 month's time).

Pics to come tomorrow!

Btw, I was fumbling with my iPod setup in the dark, and everyone got out of dodge. I tried to catch up, but people got in front of me in town and on the freeway and I also got stuck at a few red lights.

Nothing a little speeding couldn't fix

Loved the meet. Loved the cars.

Anyways, it was cool meeting a buch of you guys that I have only known by what you post. I loved the conversation at lunch, talking about the cars, as well as other assorted subjects.

Anyways, I took some pictures but lost the SD reader. Let me find it, and I will get the pictures up.

January is good except for the weather

Can we find some place in the Bay Area that has a roof (just in case the weather in January is not ideal)? Given that it took us a while to get the Sacramento date finalized, we don't need to add another variable. We need someplace where we can meet rain or shine...any suggestions?

ROFL
I like the shake, I'm gonna call it "the martini shaker"

Seriously, that .4 MPG is bugging me. I have a feeling if I do everything in my todo list that will buy me 1-2 MPG alone in less slop and drag from the steering system.

BTW, the engine mounts are ok (taking a heck of a beating though), it's the anti-shake shock that's toast (and a bunch of other things, see the "whatcha doin this winter thread).

Well if we can find a parking garage that would let us hang out for the day we would have something. There is a community college down the street from me with a garage (on top if its clear, under if not) and they might be cool with letting us hang out. I'd have to ask but we have some fun roads around here as well we could drive later in the day. I know some members don't like driving their clean cars in the rain so that could create some issues. Flexibility will be the key for a winter meet.

We may also be getting a Pismo Beach/Morro Bay meet organized here pretty soon. Again we will have to deal with rain but those are always fun because we get the LA guys plus the northern california people. It is a little longer drive but a very fun day-trip.

I cannot wait for another meet!!! I'll be mulling ideas over in my head for a good location in the Bay Area. Zacks idea is a good one. Might be cool to meet up somewhere with a nice back drop, or a place thats nearby to some form of food etc... if winter wasnt on its way a BBQ would be grand, wouldnt it?

Marin County civic center would be cool, right off of 101 in San Rafael. great roads up there between 101 and highway 1. Theres a great town called Bolinas which is a couple miles north of stinson beach. Could meet up at the civic center and go for a drive out to Bolinas for lunch or dinner at the Coast Cafe in Bolinas. http://www.bolinascafe.com/
http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings/Marin_Civic_Center.html

ideas ideas ideas...

at any rate it would be really great to try and make meets a more regular happening. I know that winter is a variable for me... at least in regards to what car I'll drive. If the w202 is welcome than im there on a rainy day. the W123 and BMW E9 like to stay dry in the winter

My car loves the rain! I drove down highway 1 last year... i was looking into hiking at Point Rays. that is some beautiful country. great place for pics. if weather wasn't an issue, a nice pic of the cars up at Battery Point with the City in the background... that would be awesome. I'm not familiar enough withthe bay area to know of a dry place off th etop of my head, so i'll leave that up to you Bay Area people... but count me in! i'll be there rain or shine.
