Two weeks later has a better potential for great weather and the leaves being out on the trees...
Location suggestion... McKinney Falls State Park... which has the added advantage of being extremely close to the airport in case any Florida members whose partners work for Jet Blue wanted to attend.

If we ever want to actually have the GTG we need to just pick a time/place and stick to it. Going back and forth on locations and times could go on forever if we let it.

If we went with McKinney Falls, I doubt a single person from Dallas would come as that's a good hour or two further south than the currently proposed location (Berry Hill Ranch). I'd rather drive an hour or two north than make more people drive further south.

This is a totally democratic process, vote on a date and one with the most votes wins. FWIW, I'm ambivalent about the date.

I'm going to post a date poll on the Schuman forum too.

Having it at Berry Hill gives us added interest besides seeing our fellow MB-dorks. We also get to see the German John Deere and the straw bale situation......
I can't make the first 2 Sat's in Feb., so I hope the democratic process works out. I agree, you can't start waffling on the date. Pick it, and stick with it.......
(come on 17 or 24!!!)
Also, having a Feb. birthday, I know that if we ever seem to ice up, it is usually in the first 2 weeks of February. Just something to think about......
(after all, I have an intake manifold to bring you....)

In every group there are always several doubting thomases...
I cooked for the last one in Austin ( you can read about it in the archives ) and people not only came from Dallas and Houston and Corpus but also Kansas and Arkansas....
Mckinney is very pretty that time of the year and very popular...some groups sign up a year in advance.... In case of bad weather it has all weather parking and walking all the way to the meeting room..which has a great view and cross flow ventilation... in case of a cold front it has a gas heater in the ceiling.

Uh, don't we want to check out each others cars and stuff? Who wants to sit in a room and chit chat whilst our cars are far far away being unadmired?

Jeez.

Basically, I'm offering my site, which is at the end of a nice drive in the country, is pretty, large and is an interesting place to visit for the reasons noted above. And, we can do this GTG on whatever date the group can decide on. Additionally, there isn't any state park entrance fee and you can bring whatever food you like or you can go hungry. To continue on and on about where and when is academic and tedious.

So gang, let's keep to the point of the poll: pick a date in February or early March that you can live with. If it is cold, go or don't go. If it is hot, go or don't go. If it's your Granny's birthday, bring her or don't bring her. I don't care, just vote on a friggin' date.

Wow, I satisfied the requirements and still feel chastised...
I think BerryHill is the perfect place to have this GTG. Yall pick a date and let's see who can make it.
Those that do will end up with a day well spent!

Not Super Bowl Weekend

I think we are really limiting potential attendance if we schedule it the same weekend as the Super Bowl Feb 4th..... many folks might not be off all weekend and given a choice as to a GTG or Super Bowl, well why take the chance.

In March is better since the bluebonnets will be out and the weather slightly better.
