That sounds good. Watkins Glen being so close would make for a nice afternoon ride!

Maybe we can set a date? I'm thinking late May early June. Those of us in college have finals in the middle of May...

I know a few places. I've got a summer home in Colchester, Ct. on Lake Hayward. Maybe we can do it there....? It would be a great spot, on the lake, BBQ, lots of parking (1.5 acres.). Or I know a few places, in the NewHaven/Hamden area. One of them is Brooksvale park, in Hamden. There's even a ball field there, so we can get on a game of soft-ball or something. There's also Salmon River, State park, in East Haddam, Ct. beautiful park..There are tons of places..

If it's in NY or even Conn I'd toy with the idea of going to this. Kind of far from me, but I'd love a good road trip. If you guys set a date early enough, I could ask for a vacation day or even just an off day that day. Normally I work Saturdays, but maybe they'd be nice if I tell them I need to go to a diesel Benz convention ... I would go down as the only employee to ever ask for that.

Nope, not 21 yet. The biggest hurrdle I have is the fuel. I just filled up today and at $2.899 a gallon there is only so far a high school student can go.. even if I do make $25 an hour.

thats the spirit!
Now if we could only get people to say how far they are willing to travel from, reasonably, then we could begin to narrow the GTG location down to the most central point for all interested....
also, cost may be a factor for some people...so terms of BYO, ..........

Yes, I agree... I like a lot of areas, and have tons of Ideas, on a location, and a lot of other stuff..I can arrange for food. My friend owns 'Glenwood drive-inn, in Hamden, Ct. They do a lot of food catering, at huge events. The Ct. Classic Chevy Club. Holds their huge anual Memorial day car show at QC.University every year, and Glenwood hosts the food..Killer dogs, and excellent Burgers. etc. They've got their own custon recipe, for Hummel to make dogs for them.

Brian want to stick it maybe?

Truckinik where is your place on lake Hayward? My dads friend has a place on the lake, any pics I probably fished in front of your dock at some point.

Anyway I'm thinking the place in NY next to the race track sounds good... It would be cool to take a drive in the afternoon over to the speedway...

But if someone in CT wants to host it thats cool to, Lake Hayward is nice...

As for the date how about the first Saturday in June, or their about??

My place is on Lake Shore Drive, between first and second beach, right near "Little Beach". Nice place, on the Western shoreline of the lake. I love the lake, No gas motors allowed, and kinda small so the water is calm and warm, and swimmable, yet clean..

You can put your fuel on my tab, and drive there, I don't care, it's another tax write-off for me. It will fall under my logistical expenses. Seriously...
