North Texas GTG, mid May

Informal GTG at Coyote Ridge Ranch, in north Texas, is in the works.

Date, TBA, will be mid May.

Food, camping, music, bonfire, perhaps a winery tour of Grayson Hills Winery(half mile up the road), parts cars to pick over...

There's a couple of very nice B&Bs nearby for those who need lodging.

I will be there, no doubt!
I can't tell yall what a great setting this is for a GTG. Plenty of room and plenty of shade.
we'll just hope for plenty of food and beverage...... {which we will of course help with}

Yeaaaa !! North Texas Get Together.

.
Hello Everyone

I am up for a North Texas Get Together.
I missed the Central Texas one.

Can I invite friends ??

I will try to bring the BBQ stuff if anyone is interested.

I have been out to Dan's place, and I think it would be a perfect spot.

If you need any help getting things arranged, just give me a yell Dan,
I would be glad to help.

Thank You
Still not right after all these pills !!

Sounds like a cool GTG, camping even? Damn. Sounds like I need to break out my portable beer tap system again...

Sounds good! it would be great to catch up with some of the of the N Texas members. The last time I went to a Mercedeshop get together was in Atlanta, GA. Once of the members had a gun pulled out on him by a BMW driver (I kid you not!).

For those doing the distance

For lodging there's the Durning House in Van Alstyne. VA is on the way to the ranch about eight miles out.

http://www.durninghouse.com/

Or, The Holiday House in Whitewright just four miles up the road.

http://www.whitewright.com/B&B/BandB.htm

Please call ahead to make sure they have a room available.

Question Diesel heads in or near Texarkana?

I'm looking for other diesel benz drivers in the Texarkana area to share some info and educate this newbie to M-B dieseldom? Anyone out there? Please pm me and I'll get in touch ... Can't make the GTG, which sounds like great fun.

You might try posting in the diesel forum. Better exposure to your quest for help. Good luck!

Oh yea!

We're still on!

I figure on an arrival time of around noon sat. The ranch is roughly a 45 min drive from LBJ and central.
I have an area mowed in the upper meadow to park. If we get much more rain we'll have to cancel as it will be muddy. I'll post the conditions early sat morning.

Coming from Dallas:

Go north on state hwy 75 to Van Alstyne. Take exit 51 and go east at the light. At the next light in town go right (south), then left at the next one. This puts you on FM121. Roughly six miles down FM121 (NOT state 121 btw) you will come to FM2729. Go left on FM2729 for two miles. Just past the wind turbine and buffalo on the right take the next right which is Rose Hill Rd. Rose Hill forks twice. Stay left both times. At the second fork it becomes Ball Rd. The third gate on the left is the entrance. I'll have the W116 parked in position.

The area is a beautiful drive thru the rolling hills of north Texas. The wildflowers are coming in bloom.

Don't forget to bring a lawn chair. Comfortable shoes if you want to walk the trails and, of course, camping gear if you want to camp.

I figure we will eat around 1-6pm. Or, until the food and drink runs out.

No cow tipping and try to stay off my tractor. Oh... and watch for snakes on the trails.

PM if you want my cell number just in case.

See you soon!

Dan
