North Texas GTG pics from 5-12-07

Nobody hardly looks at the stickys up top if not in there region, so........

It was a near perfect Saturday here in Little North Texas, and Dan's place is almost perfect for these GTG's. Had a good turnout also. Some were the usual suspects, and others we got to meet, or just get to know a little better.
Dan's sig-other Tabitha, aka Tab, fixed up some awesome Etouffe that I had 2 helpings of for lunch, and one dinner before I left. Others devoured it also, then Dan tried his "drop it on the floor and watch it explode" experiment. Can't believe I didn't get a pic of the carnage.
We also walked the property later, saw the sound stage, schlogged through the mud paths, and watched the dogs and Tab chase a rabbit...
I will show some pics of the cabin where we hung out, yakked and ate, which was a great setting, and also post some pics of folks with the cars they brought.
A fun day for sure, and just great hosts!!

Pics of the cabin

Notice anything odd about the golf cart? {besides the color}

A modest row..... {special dispensation was recieved to park the Squash next to the "Big Dawg"} 400hp meets 67.......

It was a day heavily dominated by the W126!! There was one W140 , one little W123, one beautiful gasser W124, one cool W108, and 2 W116's to go with all the W126's.

OK, here are some faces and autos to go with some Forum ID's and names......

Gotta start with Shell {BodyArt27} and his Big Dawg, a '97 W140 sporting the V12...... He knows he has a cool ride, but is very humble about it, marveling at things about it like the rest of us were. It is truly over the top!!

Next comes Armondo {Rashakor} and the Mafia Mobile, a black 300SD.....(btw, thanks for letting me use your right side window switches to close the passenger front window on the Squash}

Our fine host Dan {WhiskeyDan} leaning on his W116, with two of his W126's in the background. Still don't understand why somebody hasn't bought that 420......

Jimmy {JimmyL} with the Squash.....

Drew (Drewser3) with an awesome W124 gasser with the 2.8 liter power plant... (btw, that is a cloud reflection on his hood, not a blemish)

OK, I apologize for this, but this is Rich's {RichC} sig-other, with HER W126. I can't remember all the years, but it looks great! I'm so sorry I forgot your name.... I'm like that.....

And here is Al {Alabbasi} who has the oddest "Georgia" accent you have ever heard! He tells a great story, and has a fleet of autos, and a dog or two you might want to keep your distance from.....

I had a pic of Tab's Porsche, but heck if I know what happened to it. Sorry about that......

Man, oh man, I wish I could have been there. You guys had a GRAND time...I can tell. But, I do have a hall pass..I bought a bulldozer (diesel of course) this weekend.

Anyway, the bar has been raised a significant amount by Dan with this stellar NTX GTG so, when the next BHF MBZ GTG comes 'round in September, we'll be doing our darndest to out-do the Beanstock crowd. Gawd I love competition!!!!

Just in the spirit of irony, look what showed up on our front porch, 30 minutes apart. The first one was about 2-3 feet long. The second one was over 4 feet long!!!!!

Wondered why the dog was at the door barking.....

And not 30 minutes later, my daughter said "dad, there's another snake on the porch. Well, being a 10 year old, we thought she was just being funny, uh, until we looked out and saw this.....

Crawled out of the 123.

Here's a pic of Richard Fisher's 600HP 914. I've driven this beast. Scary fast.

My hand resting on the hood was covering the bad spot on the 116. She's next in line for a resto. Can't wait.

The 420 is going to a local auto auction soon.

We missed you. Wish you could have made it. I have some 126 doors for you if you still need 'em. There just taking up space in the barn.

Jimmy has told me all about your W116, I'm trying to talk him into this 450SEL he looked at recently.

I wonder what is keeping people from purchasing it?

Someday, I'll come to one! I have been busy with this cherry '90 300SEL I scored. Yup, those doors I am coming for. I am going to pick up my two motors at Jimmy's soon and I'll stop by for those doors and any other body parts you may have from that SD.

You need to bring up a big truck. You have 2 engines, a hood, a couple of doors, and who knows what else??? heck, might as well grab the 420 also....
