Arrow Second Texas Mercedes-Benz Get Together-Saturday, June 30th 2007

Calling all Texas Mercedes-Benz owners! It's that time of year again! On Saturday, June 30th, 2007, the second Texas Mercedes-Benz get together will be held in Centerville, TX. Caravans from Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin will converge on Centerville for an arrival time of 12pm. You need not be from Texas to attend. We had Mercedes-Benz owners from as far away as Mississippi attend last year. We will have a BBQ lunch at Woody's Smokehouse #2 located at the northbound side of I-45 and Highway 7. There is ample parking, and a private room has been reserved just for us. After we've had our fill of BBQ, we will head on over to beautiful Fort Boggy State park, about 4 miles south of Centerville on Highway 75. Admission for park entry is $2 for each person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are admitted free. The park features a small lake with a beach, picnic tables, restrooms, a pavillion, and a 2 mile long circular hike and bike trail through the East Texas Piney Woods. In the park, we will kick tires, and present our rides for viewing by other owners. We will then have a "Show and Shine", and awards will be given out after a vote is taken by attendees. Categories for awards will be "Best Vintage" (1979 and older), "Best 80's", "Best 90's", and "Best 00's". Last year, we had a great turnout, over 30 Mercedes-Benz models spanning 31 years were present in all conditions, from exotic SLs to utilitarian wagons. We're looking forward to seeing you there this year. Bring the family along, and don't forget to invite your other Mercedes-Benz owning friends and family members too!

Sounds like a good meeting spot for the Dallas contingent. Is that the same place as last year?

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&addtohistory=&address=&city=Hutchins&state=TX&zipcode=75141&country=US&geod iff=1

The Ft. Worth crowd will probably have a good idea on where to meet up. Maybe at the same spot. Would like to travel in a large group again. That was one of the most fun things about last year........

This was a great event last year, and H-Town does a great job of planning. Lunch at the same place as last year??????

I just realized that my wife's birthday is the 28th, so I imagine her family will come up that Saturday to celebrate it.
Looks like I won't be making it after all, and can't tell you how bummed I am about it......

Slight change of plans for the Austin folks. I'd forgotten how long it takes to get from Round Rock to Centerville so the time for meeting at Dell Diamond has been moved to 8:30am, departure time is now 9:00am.

Thanks for the update, please edit the OP.

Hey Randy, what are you going to France for, that place is smaller than Texas!

Most probably I'll be there.

Are there facilities to wash the car. After the long ride from North Dallas I'd like my car to be presentable .

Update:

For you guys in the DFW area, a second caravan has been added in addition to the caravan departing the Carl's Jr. in Hutchins. The Ft. Worth and Dallas #2 caravans will be meeting up at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Waxahachie. So you guys in the Metroplex now have two choices.

Here's the new, updated list of caravans.

Caravan depature locations and times:

Austin:
The Dell Diamond
3400 E Palm Valley Blvd.
Round Rock, TX 78664
Meet up at 8:30am, depart at 9:00am.

Dallas #1:
Carl's Jr.
2500 S IH-45
Hutchins, TX 75141-4256
Meet up at 10:00am, depart at 10:30am.

Dallas #2/Ft. Worth:
Wal-Mart parking lot right behind the IHOP and Wall Chinese Cafe
1200 N Highway 77
Waxahachie, TX
To get to the spot from I-35E, take the exit for Highway 287 east. From Highway 287, take the Highway 77 exit and stay on the feeder road. Go through the intersection at Highway 77 and make the right turn into the Wal-Mart lot. Make another right immediately after turning into the lot and you'll find yourself at the spot behind the IHOP and Wall Chinese Cafe.
Meet up at 10:00am, depart at 10:30am.

Houston:
Cracker Barrel
14765 North Fwy.
Houston, TX 77090
Meet up at 10:00am, or earlier if you'd like to get something to eat. Depart at 10:30am.
