Subject: "Second W123 Car Show"

The following is the detailed excerpt from the e-mail sent out to interested parties (mispeelings included free)

This year the event will be held on Saturday, October 6th, 2007. It will be at the same location as last year. Exact location will only be revealed to those interested in coming, but it is about 30 miles from downtown St. Louis.

This show is "open participation" for all W123 owners regardless of membership. It is also open for attendance by all W123 and Mercedes fans who'd like to come. HOWEVER IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT IF YOU TRAVEL TO THIS SHOW IN A W123 CHASSIS CAR, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO ENTER IT!

There are to be 33 awards available, descriptions to follow.

The field will be divided into 3 parts:

Concours:

An optional class available for those who are interested in entering their car for a points competition for condition and originality. Some cars may not qualify for this class. Cars with body damage, substancial rust, or many obvious mods or usage of non-era/oe parts will not likely qualify for the councours field.

The street class, divided in two parts:

Any W123 is invited to participate in the casual street class, even "beaters"

The street class is divided into two fields, only by whether or not they have more or less than 250,000 miles. Sub-250Kmi cars have potential to win some of 26 awards, whereas there are 4 additional awards possible for cars with over 250Kmi. (Survivor and Road Warrior Awards)

Pre-registration and payment makes for a smoother event, thus like most car shows, we have pre-registration rates and "day-of" registration rates. Pre-registrations MUST be POSTMARKED by September 30th. All others subject to regular show rates.

Listed are the show rates with pre-registration discounts noted where applicable.

Feel free to bring cars or parts for sale or trade, and you can tinker on your car and get advice from fellow members throughout the day.

I will be very busy trying to run the show smoothly, so please try not to hit me up for tech advice and assistance during the show. (I.e. please not to distract me, you know I can't resist W123 questions!)

That should cover much of the scene for now, we look forward to your attendance, please let us know as soon as your plans are final. Write if you have any questions or concerns.
