SoCal Diesel Benz owners - anyone out there?
Given the fact that there are a gazillion (yes really, ;)) cars in Southern California, and the fact that I saw almost 10 W123s and a few W126s in less than three hours last night when I was out with friends (none of them had a Lovecraft sticker, btw) - I want to see how many other old Benz owners are in SoCal, and how many would be interested in a GTG.
I know that other members would be interested (diametricalbenz - this is you ;) ) but I think that there HAVE to be others out there. I think that a GTG, and maybe even a group technical/wrenching day would be lots of fun. A group drive on one of SoCal's many awesome back roads would be fun too. Who is interested? I know that all of you W116, W123, W126, W124, and W201 dieselers out there have thought the same... And yes, here is a picture (albeit a sappy one) of my car, and what it thinks... http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...alkingW123.jpg |

Count me in too. Weekend drive? BBQ. Overnight in camp ground? Local?

So what's in between the inland empire, LA, and OC? Surely you guys all know of places that are conducive to just hanging out and getting together.
I think that a weekend drive would be lots of fun. Mullholland Drive, PCH, Carbon Canyon, Palms to Pines - these are all possible routes. I still really think that a group "wrenching" day would be a blast, but we'd have to find an open campground (though that may be risky - I doubt a campground would let anybody work on cars there) or someone has to have a big plot of land where people can just drive their cars to and work at. Keep the ideas flowing, guys. :) I'm happy at the response so far! |

I am in Victorville. I know a guy in the Lake Elsinore area who has a Jeep Cherokee with a 617 MBZ diesel in it, and has a lot of land. He also has a weird schedule, but he might be good to host a "wrenching" GTG.
I'll ask him and if he says yes, I'll post. Jeff |

Damn, I should have got a diesel. Maybe later this year, always wanted one. I need to ditch a toy or two.
