Central NC GTG, May 3rd, Spencer
I'd like to invite everyone in the area to come down for the day to the NC Transportation Museum on Saturday the 3rd. It's the Spring antique truck show and there's plenty to see and do.
When you get tired of looking at the trucks you can go through the museum and check out the excellent collection of fully restored steam and Diesel locomotives. You can also take a short ride around the yard on a vintage train. Food will be available there and if anyone's interested, we can meet later for dinner before heading home. I'll have the UNIMOG on display there and everyone is welcome to climb in, get there picture taken or whatever. This is a great event for kids too because the truck owners will generally let them climb in or on the display vehicles and trains are always a hit too. If anyone is interested, I'll post more specific info. Linkage... |

Sounds like a good day trip. Judy and I would love to come and we may even drive the diesel for a short trip like this.

That would be great Paul! Be nice to see you all again.

Evan,
Are you still planning on being at the truck show tomorrow? Judy and I are leaving in the moring some time and will see you there, if you are there and we make it. Has anyone else indicated they would be there? See you tomorrow, "Good Lord willing and the creaks don't rise." Paul |
Yep, I'll be there probably by 10AM. See you!
|
Wish I could make it. I'll be in Pick N Pull yanking upper control arms and other parts. Then I have a retirement party.
|
You're retiring?! You're too young to be retiring!
|
Not for me, silly.

Well Evan, we missed you, or you missed us.However, we saw the Unimog. What a piece of equipment. We left just before the slow race but since there were no 240s there we know it wouldn't take to long to run it. We had planed to buy your lunch but since we couldn't find you, you missed out. Next time it will be your turn.
We hope everything is OK. We'll see you on the next GTG. Paul |
Pics Evan.

Hey, sorry I missed you. I think I was either in the museum or sitting on the train during that time. Sometimes it's hard to cross paths there because it's such a big place. well, there's always next November in Greensboro!
I didn't take pictures this time because of the poor attendance - mine was the only military vehicle there... :( Here's a link to a previous show. Mostly the same... http://www.ncmvpa.com/ephotos/spencer0506.html More... http://www.ncmvpa.com/ephotos/spencer0505.html |
Cool-looking Unimog, Evan. Is it fun to drive? Looks like it would be. How many gallons per mile does that thing get?
I have enough trouble finding room to keep CARS around my house! I'd have to buy property out in the country to keep stuff like that. |
