Great Mercedes Car Show Dallas TX Saturday May 10

I've entered a car the past two years at this MB Club of America "Show and Shine" and the turn out of vehicles is greaty amazing. This will be the event's third year. There are always some great 123s and 126s at the event for you diesel nuts, but also a wide range of other MBs as well. Last year's surprise vehicles were a Unimog and a 50's 300sl roadster and a 50's 170D - "D" as in diesel! Thre were also three pagoda SLs, 107s, 124s, 140s etc.

I know you guys like 'oogling over fine MB machinery so come on out!

Assuming no rain I'll be showing my CLK. Rain I'll have my 300SD.

Park Place Mercedes www.parkplacetexas.com hosts the event for the Mercedes Club of America. They throw a lot of money at the event - so come on out! Food and drinks are CHEAP!

Here are the details:

Park Place Motorcars

6113 Lemmon Avenue Dallas, Texas

Saturday May 10 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M., rain or shine

Open to the public –admission is free with a non—perishable food item.

Join Park Place Motorcars for a fifties-style car show featuring Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Enjoy all the top tunes from back in the day, plus your favorite foods from the fifties like root beer floats, milkshakes, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and apple pies at fifties prices. You can even vote for the best-looking cars at $1 per vote with all proceeds benefiting the North Texas Food Bank. So don’t miss what promises to be a show-stopping good time!

Maybe I'll stop down. They're 1/2 a mile down the street. Just got my oil filter there Friday. They have a "Best/Worst Peeling Paint" category ?

Dress code?

If there's a dress code, they've never told me about it. Then again, I don't go in the showroom, only to the parts desk.....

I've got a gorgeous 300SD I thought I'd bring but suddenly we're chasing oil leaks and such, so it's become a doubtful candidate. I have a 1980 300D that would be a great show 'n' shine under the hood -- the engine doesn't even have a thousand miles on it!! The paint, however.....!

I'm pretty sure John & I will be there, but it may be no "show" and just our shininging faces! Hope we see y'all!! October was to long ago!!!

I just RSVP'ed today (only need to do that if you are bringing a car:

mbparts@parkplacetexas.com

I am going to be bringing my 16V out to play. Maybe I'll start to work on cleaning the engine bay tomorrow.
