Gee guys, I wish I could come, but my 380SEC is not registered yet, my 380SL is receiving a heart transplant, my 300SD is yet ugly and my C280 (although nice) is just not a real Mercedes anymore.

OH, come on! Drive the 300SD. You and I can compete for the winner of the "most ugly" car!

You'd have no chance. The dash (including a dash cap) is all cracked up and disintegrated and so are the front seats. The paint is not peeling anymore as there is little left to peel. Good news is, that I have a set of great seats, the engine is completely overhauled and I scored a perfect dash for $34 at the local junkyard ; oh, yes, I am not finished with the A/C.

My 380SEC is nice except for the "new" hood that I had to put on from a junkyard. Unfortunately some idiot scratched "f**k u b*ch" into it. I cannot show with that

Is anyone leaving from Austin?

Oh, and a flying rock just cracked one of my new head light lenses (passenger side). Anyone have one that's really nice?

Me, too. I NEED a driver's side headlight door for w126 300SDL --- a clear one. Anyone have an oddball on that side?

I'll be going

I'll be going, bringing my fiancee and her new '83 300D. Ya'll can laugh at the size of the subwoofer.

A friend is also going to show up with his blue Mercedes.

I'll leave my SDL at home since I brought it last time and it wasn't the prettiest one there. Altho, after recently doing a diesel purge, I'd wager its the fastest. Next year I'll bring it with a straight pipe. Too bad I can't mount flags up front on the 300D as easily as the SDL.

See all you Austinites at 9:15am!

Last time I came, it was in my 6.9 and it was hotter then hell. This time I may (if I feel brave enough) bring the 450SLC 5.0 or be a wuss and drive my E420 with A/C.

Reminds me --- Passenger REAR speaker --- Fix It; antenna??? Non OP

Want to drag race the 300SDL's? I'm game. I don't have the EGR removed for test purposes either.

Glad to hear you, financee, and friend are bringing 2 cars. Recruit MORE.

Cool. lots of SDL's going. Smokey's Engine bay is disgustingly spotless.

Old Goldie seems to always be dependable for road trips ,its the one car I own that never asks for much .Ill have to leave the 300cd sitting for now ,it needs half shaft repair and extended trips is asking for trouble .My friend Johnny will be behind the wheel on Goldie with his girl .Im turning some screws on the 88 190d before the road trip and will be ready on Saturday.By the way ,is anyone interested in staying the night at Centerville ? Last year we found a camping ground near by owned by a couple from the Netherlands .They own some 5 different Airstream trailers that rents for $30 a night ,real nice people.

I was planning on spending the night in Dallas.....but could be convinced to spend the night in Centerville. I doubt we will get done early enough for me to drive home on Saturday.
