Tomorrow i'll be running a few cans of diesel purge through the engine to try and narrow down the problem. (If there is no noticeable difference running on the purge i'll be checking the timing chain for stretch and so on)

Yes that's me. I'm glad my first time at the wheel of a G-Wagon was documented, haha.
What a great day ... started off rough when I ran over my laptop (I'm typing this awkwardly while plugged into a TV) but the afternoon more than made up for it. I'm sad it's over ... this feels like the week after Christmas. As always it was great to see old friends and meet some new people. And see so many cool cars of course. Thanks a million, Chad.

The presence of those G-wagons was pretty cool! The fiance wants a G-wagon and a petrol green 300CD now. I wouldn't mind any combination of SL that was there.

I got home and looked under the hood of my 240D after seeing that mirror finish engine bay of the CD that jut drove across the country, and I might have cried a little. I have never seen a car in that kind of use that was also in that type of condition. I might have to start cleaning mine regularly. At the very least I might tape a mirror to the air cleaner

JB3-Be careful with those mirror finishes, one drive in the salt and they're gone forever. You should jump on the CJ5 wagon so I can live vicariously. I'm almost ready to order my adapter plate

Bodhi-have you changed the timing belt on your CRD yet? My buddy's snapped @90k and took out the cam towers. Was a bazillion dollars to fix.

OMG, G wagen....

I got to drive the white one and now I know my goal in life is to own one. I kept telling the boys in the back (the two youngins I brought rode alone), "don't you dare tell my wife anything I'm saying about this car." Especially because at one point I was slowly repeating "I want one... I want one... I want one."

Gosh, that was such a nice thing to drive. And non-turbo too!
