I wanted to inform everyone that yesterday I bottled an Amber Bock with honey. I also put an Irish Red into primary fermentation and plan to also brew a dunkelweisen to make a "tristar" of homebrews for the Benzfest.

Sorry for the late update, but I've been trying to finish up some landscape projects around here in time for the GTG. Things have been progressing nicely.

Heck I could tag along if you're willing to wait. I have to leave the Damascus area around 10AM and I'll be taking the Balmer' beltway to get there.

I've been going back and forth about whether to cancel due to Irene.

This morning's weather info has me thinking canceling is the right thing to do.

Rain is arriving today which will saturate my parking areas. Tomorrow afternoon right after everyone was going to start getting here will be when the tropical storm weather is scheduled to arrive.

The whole area is under flood warnings and tropical storm warnings. We're not being evacuated here and I have family coming from the Jersey shore to ride the storm out with us but they're saying to expect about 7" of rain (that's like 7 foot of snow).

I am completely upset by this whole weather situation and what it may do to my property, but I am WAY MORE CONCERNED with the safety of all who are planning to travel here. Anyone that was planning to come here because the conditions here are safer than at your home, can still come but I have limited room to house people. Please look into other options if you can.

Although this is probably a good idea for me as my route down there is right along the path of the storm, as would be the way back in a completely unreliable vehicle

I want to reschedule but want to see how bad Irene slams everything first since I may need time to handle repairs.

We were ordered to evcuate, so, I rode out Irene at Loews in Philly. I met quite a few "Irene refugees" from So Jersey up there.
Hadn't planned on blowing a grand this weekend, but the Czarina, her daughter and I had a "grand" time.
I was thinking of you on Sat, wondering if the gtg was on or off. now I get another chance to get there. Just don't pick 10/15. Daughter's wedding weekend.

Now that my hurricane cleanup is done and my basement leaks are repaired, I want to get this party rescheduled.

After taking everyone's suggestions into consideration, I'm looking at rescheduling for Saturday, October 8.

Since Hurricane Irene caused us to cancel on August 27th, here is our rescheduled date.

4th Annual Southeast PA Benzfest
Saturday, October 8, 2011 - 11am until ?

We can start at 11am and go until whenever. I'll provide food and beverages, but if you would like to bring something it will be appreciated.

Let's get a head count so I can plan for the food and drink.


I live about 1 mile from the Montgomery Mall to give you an idea of where I am. I'm between Allentown and Philadelphia. I'll give my address via PM to everyone that will be coming.
