Summer So. Cal. Coastal Cruise & GTG Aug 29

The Summer So. Cal. Coastal Cruise & GTG is Saturday August 29 starting in Malibu, and driving to Dana Point. We will meet at Duke's on PCH.
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...y/Dukes003.jpg
We will leave for the drive PROMPTLY at 9:00 AM. This will be about a 3.5 hour drive down the coast. We will be driving on I 405 the portion that is not on the coast (maps available Saturday morning) to save some time. We will stop along the way to re-group in the Best Buy parking lot at 6270 PCH (about an hour into the drive). At the end of the Cruise, we will be meeting at Fred's Mexican Cafe http://www.fredsmexicancafe.com/ for lunch and Swap Meet and GTG after lunch.
I have a special treat (surprise) for those who wish to stick around for a few hours after, starting at 2:00. I am a member of a club that collects certain items (that's the surprise), and we are having the local chapter meeting at a members house in Dana Point. If you plan to stick around, you won't be disappointed! I will hand out maps after lunch to all that wish to attend. If you do attend, you must have a name badge. My brother is making custom badges for this event, so email him your info soon! (name, city, car model, screen name, and photo of your car or person) to: igroupinc@yahoo.com

August 29 near Dana Point could work for me.

Rich,

Last time was a hoot!

I'll work with either date. Arcadia would work.

Meeting place needed

I talked to a guy at the Malibu Chamber of Commerce about a place to meet on Aug 29. He suggested 2 places. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf parking lot at Cross Creek, or Duke's at Las Flores. Can someone please do a drive-by on Saturday morning and let me know which spot would be the best for 25+ cars? I am almost 100 miles away from there, so I would like someone closer to check it out for me. Thanks, Rich

Rich,
I'm lazy! and I too live Miles from there but... I googled both those locations with some results. Maps - street level - take a look for yourself.
Duke's has a large parking lot on the south side of the highway. As I remember they do not open until lunchtime so if we promise to be gone by then they may leave the lot open.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf may be in the large strip mall on the north side of the street. I tried to locate an address but wasn't successful. The parking lot would more than satisfy our needs and a local source for coffee and that all important rest room.
Charlie Harper said he was going to attend too.

Grrr.

3835 Cross Creek, Malibu is the address but poking around the picture from the street all I see is the everywhere Coffee Store " Starbucks "

good news is both parking lots will work. I guess I vote for the Coffee Bean location as for the reasons above.

I've been monitoring this GTG for a while and was hoping to attend, but it has been decided that I am taking the wife and kids for a one week vacation the last week of August to the high Sierra's for some fishing and hiking.

Feel free to have a good time without me. :D

No. or So. California Sierras?

I may be able to swing going to this meet. I got new tires put on, and the brakes should be freshly done.

Northern California. The cabin is located between Shaver Lake and Big Creek.

Sorry that is the Central Sierra's! North of Bass Lake is Northern Sierra's.
