Fifth Annual Texas Mercedes-Benz Get Together-Saturday, June 5, 2010
 

The FIFTH Annual Texas Mercedes-Benz Get Together will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Caravans of Mercedes-Benz autos leaving from Austin, the DFW Metroplex, Houston and San Antonio will once again meet at the midway point between Houston and Dallas on I-45 known as Centerville for a day filled with automotive fun! This is an event open to all Mercedes-Benz owners, regardless of the age or condition of their car, from garage queens to daily drivers to beaters. Owners from points beyond Texas are invited, too. We've had repeat attendees from Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Kansas participate in this get together. Smart and Sprinter owners are invited to attend, too. After all, they're just our brothers with different badging.;) Do you have family members, friends, or neighbors who drive Mercedes-Benzes and don't know about this event? Tell them to come on out! The caravans will depart at a time that will give them a 12:00 Noon arrival time in Centerville. You can check below for the departure time for the caravan nearest you. We will have reserved parking and a BBQ lunch in a room reserved just for us at the world famous Woody's Smokehouse on the NORTHBOUND side of I-45. After everyone has eaten, we'll head 4 miles south of town on old Highway 75 to Fort Boggy State Park for the Show and Shine! Admission to Fort Boggy is FREE. Awards will be given out based on People's Choice for best Vintage Model (Pre 1980), Best 1980s Model "Young Classics", Best 1990s Model, and Best 2000-present Model. Bring the camera, water and some sunscreen to the park because it probably will be hot, though not as hot as the late-July meets (we're hoping for some mid-upper 80s temps this time around instead of 100+). Come on out to Texas's Premier Mercedes-Benz Event and have some fun with fellow BenzNuts. We're gonna have a good time!

10. This is one of the most anticipated Mercedes-Benz events in Texas. If you can't make it to any other Mercedes-Benz get together in the state of Texas, this one you just have to attend!:cool:

A good possibility me and the crew will be there . 300SD is willing, driver is more than willing, working on the co pilot and crew right now. The 7:30 on a Saturday is the sticking point .

The new motor transplant hasn't been rejected and the A/C is ice cold. What better way to do a good shakedown test.

BBQ and the lake might get them over the early start time!!

Just checked the weather forecast. It looks like the Saturday is going to be 105 degrees in Dallas and 98 degrees in Centerville and possibly cooler by the lake. So for all of you DFW guys that want to show and shine your cars..... shine them at night an then drive them to Centerville and show them there.

Ya know, I planned this thing for early June because I thought it would be cooler in early June. Go figure that for 2010, April and May have been hotter than usual for Texas, and June's not looking any better, either. :eek:

Nothing that a cap and lots of water won't fix.

I purchased a new cooler just for the occasion. :D

I'll be at my usual place, waiting on the side of the road in Milano. The Dell Diamond crowd should be through there sometime after 10:45...

No wagon this year, A/C crapped out and I don't have the SDL back together yet (almost!!!) so, I'll be in SWMBO's ride, Lilly, the Arctic Blue 300D. If she won't let me take her, I'll just have to slum it in my F250.

For those who have or have not attended this gathering. It's a lot of fun.
June 1st is the date for the 2013 gathering. Mark your calendars. There's usually a great turn out and great food.
