Sept 10th is the day. Location TBA. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers and soda provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring some kind of meat accessory, potluck style. We are also happy to accept additonal meat donations provided you are willing to cook it yourself. Beer/wine is byob but you will probably have to "cup it" as alcohol is almost certainly to be prohibited. We are trying to find a venue with an appropriate parking lot and preferably alcohol permitted.

We are going to have some prizes as well for best in class, whatever those classes may be. Longest travelled, oldest relic, "amazing it got here", "cream puff" maybe a few others.

IF I can make it I'll bring a/c repair equipment, and do a little work on everyone's cars!!!

Now I have a target date to have the last parts of my list for the 85 done. I'm in, another NC'er, coming from the Sandhills. Maybe a convoy from this region?

I thought I would share part of a discussion now taking place in another Mercedes Diesel Forum regarding two Mercedes events apparently occurring on the same day, September 10, 2011: this event in the Atlanta area, and the Chowdah Q, at Goddard State Park in Rhode Island.

All you need is a macbook and someone with a google acct at each end.
Instant video conference for free. Log onto google acct, invite
the other to "video chat" When the other acct. holder accepts the
chat, you go live. Built in camera and sound.

There is an Atlanta SE GTG being planned on Peach Parts for September 10. Is that the same event being discussed in here? If not.... that would make THREE Mercedes get togethers scheduled for nearly the same time! It is starting to sound like a ..... Movement!!!

Any truth to that rumor that the whole Egypt thing started out as a Mercedes BBQ?

BTW, not sure if this helps but... I do not have Macbook, but do have an iPad 2 with the 2-way camera. I would offer its services for the event if that would be of some use.

Happen to have to drive though Atlanta today, at the perry dog show now, then back though though Atlanta again later. Driving the 300cd. 4+ hours each way, drove like a dream on the down trip.
