From the start, all the runs that we have planned have been for "any car with a three pointed star". This one will be no exception, sorry. The first one I went to was a "Diesel Drive" (limited to Diesel MB's only). We decided to open our runs to any MB, Diesel, WVO or gas.

I've met Justin a few times in Sacramento. Cool Guy and well versed in Benz.
I wonder If he thinks an E55 or ML wouldn't cut it?

If he is truly Benz-Less maybe the old stand-by Jim B could give him a ride?

The wife and I will be in solvang Nov. 10, leaving the 13th.

Its been too long since I've done one of these drives. Good clean fun....

The first W123 meet established that I was a part of, was between NorCal and SoCal was between 8 or so members. Some folks from the north (Garrett, Zack, Patric, and his brother) while some from the south (myself, Curtis, Marsh) met in Pismo Beach on April 2006.

Man, that felt like it was so long ago. I started my drive at 5AM, met up with Benzoid in Redondo Beach together w/ Obaja (Marsh). Garrett drove up too from the north and took amazing videos. We met in Pismo Beach, then headed to Morro Bay.

Curtis, with his girlfriend in his 240D, and myself in my 300D, arrived home close to midnight the same day. If you guys plan to have a meet this big, give yourself a lot of time. Or book to stay overnight somewhere so you can enjoy the drive home the next day. Highway 101 is very scenic, plan for plenty of stops if you want.

I'm pretty much booked for November, so many gatherings to attend.

This may turn into a spring cruise, as December may be too cold, even on the coast.

Yeah he is a cool guy - he is even the person who invited me to the first Nor Cal Benz gtg, I ever went to, back in 2006 I think it was.

Nope.

I have three Benzes.. All of them with AMG wheels and other stuff, and all are fairly quick.

So I can loan you the keys to one of them, for this!

Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't been on this page since my comment.

As for organizing, I truly am not prepared to do something like this. Also, i'm new to the MB scene.

I have organized several events over the past 10+ years. Mostly Datsun based. You can google "Datsun Calspeed" for background. So I can offer some tips and experience based knowledge your event.

One thing to keep in mind is that you can't have everything. But you must have certain amenities.

Accommodations. Food. Entertainment.

And if you have a nice size group you might be able to negotiate room rates, a dinner banquet and more.

Since this is a new idea, I would suggest starting small. How about a NorCal meet using the same the principles? Accommodations, food and entertainment. See how it goes and then plan for a bigger meet in May '13.

Just for your info... The Datsun Roadster Meet originally started with only a handful of cars. I think the peak attendance was over 60 Datsun Roadsters in Mt Shasta. The same happened for the Datsun Roadster Solvang Meet.

It is doable but it is a slow process.

Rollguy and his brother have been putting on these So Cal Drive for some time and they are the best, always something new, and good places to eat.

May 18 is the date for the North meets South cruise and get together in Lompoc CA. More details to follow, so mark your calendars and save the date!
From the South, we will be meeting at Duke's on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, and driving North. We will be meeting somewhere in Lompoc for lunch and just hanging out talking about cars etc. My brother and I have to take a break for a couple hours to visit someone, so everyone else can meet and greet at lunch while we are gone. When we get back, we will all head back home. Someone is still needed to head up the cruise southbound. If you are the organizing type, please step up and organize the NorCal group. We would like to meet in Lompoc no later than 1:00 PM on Saturday May 18, so plan accordingly. Thanks, Rich
