Anyone from NorCal want to plan a "MidCal" GTG with SoCal?

I would like to plan a cruise/GTG with someone from Northern California so us from SoCal can meet somewhere in the middle. I am not sure where would be the best place to meet in the middle, or where the largest concentration of members are in NorCal. If the most members are near Sacramento, would somewhere around Solvang be too far for those up north? We have several members down south in SD County, but most are around L A/Inland Empire. Let's get some dialog going and hopefully someone up north will step in and organize the NorCal division. My brother and I have organized several down here, and thought it would be cool to have a giant left coast GetToGether! Please pm me if you are interested. Thanks, Rich

Thumbs up ! ROAD TRIP !

Sounds like fun ! .

I'll not be available from 9/19 ~ 9/25 , otherwise it sounds good to me , I like to let the old girl stretch her legs a bit...

Nate, I have no problem finding someone to go on the drive north, I just can't find anyone up north to organize the south bound part of the trip!

Count me in.

Just did a First Sunday Drive FSD September with the Sacramento section of MBCA along the Garden Hiway then north to Lincoln for lunch.

Jim B lives up that way and might know of some one to organize that end.

Buzz, it's always a pleasure to have you along. Yes I hope Jim can find someone up there to organize the top section. My bro' and I will get the bottom handled.....Rich

I hope to have it in the middle or end of October. The 20th or 21st will work, as I will be in Colorado from the 12th to 15th. I also have plans for the last weekend in September. Another option is the first or second weekend of November. Still need to find someone to organize the top section....Rich

Notes from a Northerner.

Solvang is a bit ambitious for Northerners (San Luis Obispo is generally considered to be the Mid-point between Northern and Southern California) but as you know, not for me .

I will be coming down to So Cal, in the newly acquired w212 (seen here, or in any Mercedes benz dealer showroom) tomorrow for a break from the Sacto Valley heat.

The Dennis/Rich drives are NOT to be missed. they are hands down the best in California, MBCA sanctioned -- or not.

I am inclined to come down in the '91 560SEC or the '95 E420 though for this latest cruise..

I can't be the one to organze it personally at this end this year because of other commitments, but would say the Sacramento and SF Bay area both (though about 180 miles apart from each other) both can be mined for the largest number of willing and able participants from Nor Cal --- from this forum, at least; especially the 20+ year old mb diesel model owners....

Solvang is a great choice, SF Bay Area people could get there from 101 South, and Sacramento area folks can take I-5 down, and then 152 West (or 166 West) and over to 101 and then down 101 to Solvang are the most efficient way if you are going South, but not the most scenic.

In fact, I will be in So Cal --- OC/west side & DTLA/Inland Empire this Wed thru Sat probably and could possibly meet to help discuss plans.

Solving is a great location. I have been going and showing there since 1998.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Because there are lots of motels, restaurants, awesome pastries for breakfast! Of course, the roads are beautiful and the wineries... Yes!

The city was very accommodating as they shut a few blocks downtown for the car event.

It sounds like you are nominating yourself to organize the north part of the cruise. If that is the case, let's talk. We need to get a date set so everyone can save it and make plans....Rich

Sounds great. My son, Kyle, who helped me do the headgasket
on the SD might come too.
