Arrow Ninth Annual Texas Mercedes-Benz Owners GTG - Saturday May 17, 2014

Over the years, I've had requests to hold this GTG at an earlier date to avoid a lot of the June heat. For those of you who have made that request, today is your lucky day. Rejoice, because instead of the usual 1st Saturday in June, the Texas Mercedes-Benz Owners GTG has been moved to Saturday, May 17, 2014!

For those of you who are new to this GTG, caravans leave from Houston, the DFW area, San Antonio, and the Austin area, and meet in Centerville at noon at Woody's Smokehouse just east of I-45 for a BBQ lunch. The dining room at Woody's will be reserved just for us. After lunch, we'll head down to Fort Boggy State Park for the Show and Shine. There will be reserved parking at Woody's and at Fort Boggy, and the pavilion at Fort Boggy will be reserved for our group. Admission to Fort Boggy is free. Show and Shine Awards will be given out based on People's Choice for best Vintage Model (Pre 1980), Best 1980s Model "Young Classics", Best 1990s Model, and Best 2000-present Model.

If you want to bring parts to sell or trade, feel free to do so.

Departure Points:
(If you are coming from a town not listed below, (ex: Beaumont, Tyler, etc...) and you are interested in setting up a caravan if you expect 2 or more other vehicles to come along, send me a private message so we can get something set up. Keep watching this list to see if any other cities get added.)

My favorite event of the year.

I was speaking to Joseph yesterday and we agreed that this would be a good opportunity for a small swap meet so if you have any parts to sell. Bring them along.

wooohooo! Yeah!

Now that's what I've been talkin' about too! Earlier in the year when it's cooler (or at least when it's not so damn hot yet)! Yeah, I'm down for that date! Sounds like Al has a great idea too, about that swap meet thing! I'll bring a couple of loose ends I've got. Sure look forward to seeing what some others would bring. (anyone gonna bring any bits from a w123 coupe?)

Oh, just one question for you, Al: we all know you got more vehicles than the law ought to allow but I just don't recall, you picked up an 18 wheeler lately I don't know about yet? Just askin' cause I figure you'd need one to bring your stash of parts for a swap meet! roflmao! If you did, I still have a current class "A", I'd volunteer to jam the gears for you!

Joseph, I'll plan to be there this year and pick up the caravan as it passes The Woodlands heading north on I-45.

Darrell

That's very funny, no 18 wheeler for me, but I do plan on bringing a few small items including 5 cans of R12 that will only be available for sale to attendees at the gathering.

I've now got 7 cans for the swap meet. That should do two cars.

Why don't you mix things up and drive one of your Jags? That'll scramble everyone's monkey.....

Isn't that why all Jag owners have two Jags, one to drive while the other one is broken down? So just have a caravan of two.....

Hey guys, A friend enthusiast turned me on to this event which looks like fun. I'll look forward to attending. Maybe I can snag a few cans of R12 for my '91 350SD!

BTW, if anyone can bring a good radiator for it, I'll take it off their hands and make it worth their while.

Will a 2.5 88 300d radiator be the same or is it a bigger radiator on the 350sdl? I have this radiator on hand at the moment in good condition.
