Thumbs up So Cal GTG

Mary and I had a great time today and it was great to meet so many new people, eat so much or should I say too much food and the cars were great as well. Hope that we will all see each other again soon. Someone who took pictures post them when you get time.

Absolutely!

What a great turnout. The best and largest group yet!

The following people attended:
1. Robert (Bobby) and Mary Rayson with their 82 380 SL (with an engine and transmission from a 560 SEC).
2. Doug Kinney and his 92 500E
3. Placo1 (Afshin) and his 92 500E
4. Hi-Power (Ernesto), his wife (Cristina), their two daughters (Sofia and Fernanda) and their 86 300E and 95 E420
5. Mike Tangas and his "brought back to life" 86 560 SEL
6. JCE (John), his wife (I can't spell her name, Liese???), and their son (Christopher) came in their 87 300E Sportline
7. The Black Guy (Marvin) and his 83 380 SL
8. ML Dude, his wife (Juanita), and 8 month old baby boy arrived in two cars - their 2000 ML430 skyview and 2000 CLK 430 convertible
9. Phil from PartsShop and his whatever year Z28
10. Mark Cummins and his E320 wagon
11. David C Klasse and his 95 C280.
12. David's friend in her C230 Kompressor.
13. Me, Suginami (Paul Smalley) and my wife Tomoko arrived in our 1993 E320.

We had enough food to feed an army and still practically ran out of food!

Man, we had ribs that Mark BBQ'd, BBQ'd chicken, ham, tostadas, chips and salsa, potato chips, macaroni salad, potato salad, cookies, banana pudding, Snapple teas, soda pop, Tequila, beer.

Holy Moly, I'm telling you that we have met that nicest people from this forum. My wife and I were commenting on the way home how hard it is to make friends these days - what with being married and working. We are so busy with everyday life stuff that's it's hard to really have time to make friends. And we sure are glad we've come to meet so many good people that we've come to be friends with from our association with this site.

Yes sir, that was a good get together, definitely the best. I would be posting pictures, but even though I had the digital camera, I was so busy looking at cars and talking with everyone ( and eating & eating & eating) that I forgot to take any .

The locale was pretty good too! Couldn't have asked for better weather, sunny and just about 80*F with a slight ocean breeze. Much. much nicer than the Inland area, which was running about 30 degrees warmer. The only picture I did manage to get was the dash temp reading showing 110*F as I neared Temecula. I'll post it later if it turned out.

The 4 year old was mad at me when I got home because she really wanted to come (never mind she didn't want to this morning ).

I definitely enjoyed seeing the "regulars" again and meeting all the new people. These little get togethers are a fun way to spend a day.

I had an great day today, couldn't ask for better company, food or weather......and lets not forget that ultra smooth tequila It was great meeting so many members and their family and conversation was never ending........except when our mouths were full of food!

We definitely need to do this more often considering the weather in California is always nice and its a fun way to spend the afternoon.

What a fantastic GTG! Great people, fantastic food, and of course, some fantastic cars. Lots of tip and trick sharing, performance discussions, and DIY suggestions floating around. Mike Tangas (aka MacGyver) was a gold mine of DIY info! FastLane Phil wore the T shirt with the logo Rainmaker designed for him - nice to meet the person who has provided so much help and service on parts.

Best day of the summer!
